"The Pool" was a unique entity in the early-to-mid '80s out of Austin, Texas. The synthesizer project by drummer Patrick Keel released two albums and a series of EPs despite the gradual decline of the 'synth-pop' genre. "Jamaica Running" is the B-side to his "Dance It Down" single and the song appears to be a bit of an unusual track for The Pool, more laid back and groove focused than the rest of his work, which is more upbeat and energetic. With our edit we added a bunch of percussion and space echo dubs to give it a more tropical flair for our "Stir It Up" mixtape.

Jamaica Running (Poolside Edit)

Suzanne Kraft's ambient LP "Talk From Home" and his EP released as Dude Energy were definitely some of 2015's highlights. The LA producer returns this month with the "DJ Safety" EP released via Stuttgart label Kitjen, who had previously welcomed Hotel Lauer, Tambien and Shit Robot. This time Diego Herrera offers three beautifully crafted house jams, including the phlegmatic Japanese-inspired "Skype". As usual with Suzanne Kraft, the production is flawless : a steady beat, a mesmeric bass line, dreamy pads, a clever use of the delay, Herrera knows how to tell a story. Mind-blowing and already essential, out on March 28th !
