This one is about a Les Paul that was stolen from me, went to Mississippi, and came back.

I wrote the music for this in 2006 while recovering from a quadruple bypass. It was layered up with my midi guitar. I don't even remember how many instruments. The words didn't come, just the title and a few thoughts here and there. But then, today, some ideas did percolate. Hope you like it. Seems topical to me. ;)

This is about a concert for Mietek Szczesniak in Chicago 2013. Mietek is a superstar in Poland and Producer Wendy Waldman was bringing him to America. Most of the crew had to stay in the convent with the nuns for a week as we prepared for the concert.

T.T.A.B.O.O. (Thicker Than a Bowl of Oatmeal)

Messianic worship music predates Christianity by going all the way back to Davidic-style of Israeli worship forms that were in place at the advent of Yeshua (Jesus) and the earliest believers would have known some of the forms used in messianic worship still today, such as a dance called "The Hora". Yet as ancient as this is, it is currently considered a  sub-genre of "christian" worship. Go figure?  Therefore I make a special Texas-flavored hybrid in this sub-genre of a sub-genre. Enjoy! Unto Us A Child Is Born

Grew up around a lot of great blues and country musicians on both sides of my family. So naturally....I fell into british rock, right? Later on, I even got into various forms of Israeli and Middle Eastern music like mizrachi, yemenite, klesmer, Chassidic, etc. 

My latest challenge is learning to be an audio engineer and these are my first experiments. The Smoking Section began with so many greats from Asheville NC. Shout out to Lenny, JP, Ben, Will, Ken, Bex, and Jason Christafaro.  But then I started adding tracks from great musicians I'd meet on a long tour of the western USA in places like Houston, Tulsa, Iowa (somewhere?), Omaha, Minneapolis, Denver, Albuquerque.  We call them The Smoking Section.
