Tepr sort son deuxième EP « Half below » toujours sur Partyfine, avec le leitmotiv « pop is more » en tête. 

Half Below élargit la brèche ouverte par Tepr sur son précédent EP « Hypnotease". Le spectre s’élargit, la House se fait mélodique, les rythmiques se font discrètes mais ne perdent jamais de vue la danse. 

La voix est présente, samplé et loopée sur les deux titres les plus pop, « Half Below » et « Whatever », tandis que le reste du EP fait office de face B nocturne, avec deux titres House instrumentaux. Tanguy Destable glisse doucement mais surement  vers une Dance music plus pop, où le synthétique et l'analogique se mettent au service de l’écriture.

Tepr sets to release his second EP  this year « Half Below », again on Partyfine, with the « pop is more » motto in mind.

Half below broadens the  breach Tepr opened with his last EP « Hypnotease ». The spectrum is wider, House becomes melodic, eurythmics more discreet but never lose sight of dance.

The voice is more present, sampled and looped on two tracks more pop, « Half Below » and « Whatever », when the rest of the EP is used as night-time B sides, with two instrumental House tracks. Tangy Destable slowly but surely slides towards a more pop Dance music, where synth and analog put themselves at the service of writing.

Mahalo returns to LAMP with his second release on the imprint 'Midnight Delight'. It marks a strong follow up from his stellar rework of 'I Wish It Would Rain' by the Temptations and first original release of 2016. After a series of widely popular remixes and original work (including an EP and single on Sleazy Deep and Brooklyn Fire respectively) the Hawaiian born LA based producer is setting his sights on some big releases and charts this year. His constant ability to traverse a wide range of genres continues to demonstrate the producers skill and creativity in the studio. 

'Midnight Delight' is a luscious blend of harmonizing piano chords, a deep, melody-driven bass and a provocative guitar lead that encapsulate the vibe of a late night drive through the city. Snappy percussion layers supplement a pumping kick drum to provide a driving rhythm to the track's sultry groove. An electrifying guitar solo captivates the listener during the breakdown with mesmerizing effect in each passing run. As the title suggests this track is best consumed at the peak hours of the night setting you on cruise control until sunrise.

Following on from his collaborative efforts on ‘Garden Of Eternal Summers’ LP alongside label boss Miguel Campbell, MAM recruit and long-serving DJ and producer Matt Hughes reveals his debut solo LP. ‘RedHotDutch’ is forthcoming via Outcross Records on 15th July 2016.

The LP’s leading track ‘Chrome Dice’ is the perfect set up for Matt’s synth-driven, electronic masterpiece; its up-tempo groove giving a definitive representation of what to expect for the next 12 tracks. Both ‘System Magic’ & ‘Rhythm Is A Given’ incorporate harder hitting percussion, giving way to more mellow rhythms such as ‘Radio’, and the edgier tones of ‘Groove’ – however each in turn resonate Matt’s in-depth knowledge of funk & soul throughout.

Signing off with the transcendent, uplifting release ‘Southern Funk’; this multi-dimensional album stands alone in its entirety, displaying a blend of futuristic and reminiscent 80’s electronica tones. Fusing sharp, electronic stabs, reverberating piano chords, along with melodic instrumentals, guitar-driven verses, stretched synths and experienced use of a vocoder; Matt Hughes unveils an album that portrays bespoke elements and unique qualities from start to finish.

‘RedHotDutch’ is forthcoming via the renowned label in the wake of 10 years of Outcross Records. In the decade since its launch it has established itself as one of the key components of UK house music, sharing parallels with orginial French Touch labels like Cryadmoure and Roulé. Based in Leeds, Outcross have released over 50 records from artists including fellow label-head Matt Hughes, Inland Knights, Iain O’Hare, Tboy, Funky Fat and Miguell Campbell himself, as well as MAM – a collaborative project between Miguel and Matt Hughes that has delivered three albums, including most recent LP, ‘Garden of Eternal Summers’.
