Parisian label [re]sources returns with the third edition of its "Club Hexagon" series dedicated to showcase the current French club / bass scene. Out on the 30th April, the latest edition features tracks from the likes of rRoxymore, Flore, Ténèbre, Gipsyan, Qant, Dehousy, Blâme and more. 

Here we have the exclusive stream of Pépé Elle’s ’Sink’, a sprawling hip-shaking dubstep-influenced number featuring jazzy, soulful elements. Based in Paris, Pépé is the co-founder of record label Aurore 404 and its sub-label 3 Feet Deep. He’s also one half of Flying Structures with NairLess - a techno/trance live project.

Tred’s bio is a simple one. It reads “high power, deep emotion”, and that about sums up the Tred aesthetic. The Aussie born, Germany based producer has been behind some of contemporary hard dance’s most exciting anthems, and follows up a release on 1Ø Pills Mate with this epic four-tracker for Lobster Theremin.

‘Secrets’ strays down a melodic route with its trancey stabs and hands-in-the-hair energy, uniting the worlds of hard and soft.

ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

It's a true honour for us to premiere a track off SHUBZIN VA004 let alone this absolute stinger from An Avrin. Shubzin has become one of our favourite labels not just through their consistently forward-thinking and high-quality musical output, but also due to their commitment to community and charitable causes. Similarly, An Avrin has become a label favourite with outrageous releases on Scuffed, Excess and Out Of Sorts. 'Mosquito' sees An Avrin blur the lines once again between bass-heavy UKG and the crisp breaks which the Lewisham-based producer is becoming renowned for. 

For their 4th VA, Shubzin are supporting Sisters Uncut a charity who have proved to be vital in the previous months rallying support and leading the Kill the Bill marches against new draconian changes to policing and prison laws. This charity challenges gendered violence by challenging the government cuts to a number of social and community/health based services. Austerity is a political choice with fatal consequences.

PREMIERE: An Avrin - Mosquito [Shubzin]

As we re-enter with Vol. 7 of Meeting Of The Minds & I've got a very special set of tracks on this one.

Even though I've known Sully for a number of years now, we've never actually been able to work on a tune together, for no reason in particular. We've been supporting each other's music in that time & I've been a big fan of some of his music, especially the tunes on his label Uncertain Hour, his recent EP on Astrophonica & his collaborative EP with Kid Lib on Magic 3. But our paths have never really crossed musically, so I thought that this collaborations series would give me good reason to get in touch and work on something with him and the outcome of that is "Windswept".

Nashville-based producer @jasoncode makes his Scuffed Recordings debut with a three-track EP of high-octane, freewheeling bass and club music. 

Originally hailing from Seattle, Jason has become a fixture in the Tennessee dance community in the past ten years as part of the Terminal 8 crew, booking acts like Nikki Nair, ELISE, Kush Jones, and Leonce among others. 

Following a string of self-released projects in 2020, Jason brings his unique style to Scuffed, incorporating elements of breaks, bass, UK garage, and more.  

Opening with the title track, ‘HOT!’ sees Jason contrast bouncing chords and gleeful vocal samples with a lurching bass drop and clattering breaks. 

‘City 17’ ups the tempo with wonky arpeggios veering over a fierce kick drum, and eventually developing into a shuffling, speed garage-esque beat.

‘Decisions’ closes out the release, jumping between eerie vocals, pounding kicks and skittish breaks to further build on Jason’s signature sound. 

The HOT! EP will be out on all digital platforms on 12th November, with a streaming single arriving on 29th October.
