Vigil es el proyecto de DJ de Tyler Vigil, un DJ estadounidense originario de Texas y residente de Nueva York desde hace mucho tiempo. Vigil irrumpió en la escena de Nueva York como la mitad del dúo de DJ #whiteowljaguar. Si bien ese proyecto estuvo fuertemente influenciado por el minimal house + techno y la escena electrónica rumana, Vigil ha experimentado nuevas exploraciones sonoras el año pasado. Emprendió un viaje musical para expandir sus horizontes sonoros, y actualmente está tratando de capturar sonidos, ritmos y melodías del mundo en sets con más eclecticismo y musicalidad pero siempre tratando de mantener la esencia dance de la música House y Techno.  

Para TM012, Vigil expresa diferentes emociones y sensaciones derivadas de un episodio de Covid-19 que tuvo los días en que grabó la mezcla. Y así creó una metáfora musical con tonos oscuros pero con una resolución luminosa que lleva a los oyentes desde las sombras hasta lo alto de las nubes. Varios géneros como house, minimal house y techno se escuchan en sus formas puras, pero poco a poco esos sonidos maduran en texturas únicas y novedosas.

Vigil is the DJ project of Tyler Vigil, an American DJ originally from Texas and a long-time New York resident. Vigil broke into the New York scene as one half of the DJ duo #whiteowljaguar. While that project was strongly influenced by minimal house + techno and the Romanian electronic scene, Vigil has undergone new sound explorations in the past year. He undertook a musical journey to expand his sonic horizons, and is currently trying to capture sounds, rhythms and melodies of the world in DJ sets with more eclecticism and musicality but always trying to maintain the dance essence of House and Techno music.

For TM012, Vigil expresses different emotions and sensations derived from an episode of Covid-19 that he had the days when he recorded the mix. And he thus created a musical metaphor with dark tones but with a luminous resolution that takes listeners from the shadows to the top of the clouds. Various genres such as house, minimal house and techno are heard in their pure forms, but little by little those sounds mature into unique and novel textures.
