Song of Awen

Awen is the ‘flowing spirit’ of Bardic inspiration and creativity. I wanted to write a song that summed up how I felt about the beauty, and wonder, of the natural world. A song that filled me up every time I heard the lyrics, as it told of how the Gods show themselves to us everyday through the world of nature.Song of Awen was the result.

Alguns instantes de silêncio e escuta profunda são importantes na abertura de percepçoes. sonoridade proveniente dos ruídos nossos de cada dia, por exemplo, uma sirene, um apito, um miado, um latido, etc. Os mais sortudos chegam a perceber o som das folhas secas varridas pelo vento, ou o timbre aveludado de um violoncelo ao longe. 
Estamos acostumados a Ouvir e não Escutar. A Escuta envolve timbres que requer consciencia na escuta. Pode passar uma ou varias vidas sem saber da existencia desses timbres pelo simples fato de não parar para escuta-los.

Às vezes é o ritmo que nos arrebata: sons repetidos entre determinados espaços de tempo, capazes de dar um sentido auditivo. 
No profundo silêncio, podemos com atenção ouvir o som do coração e da corrente sanguínea dentro dessa excepcional caixa de ressonância que é nosso corpo, seus condutos e seus mistérios, que somos todos nós. 
Romper o silêncio após alguns instantes é um impulso natural.
Esta fonte tão primordial de inspiração que é a nossa própria existência orgânica nos dá o tom, se confiarmos em sua força. 
Soaremos graves e fortes, mesmo quando liberamos o cansaço, a dor, a raiva ou a garra. E estaremos irmanadxs com a terra e seus significados, fonte de inspiração para os povos indígenas de todos os cantos do mundo.  
Escutar os sons que muitas vezes passam despercebido, escutar todo e qualquer som, exercitar a escuta com sons distantes, depois sons mais perto, ate que um som te pega, aí voce fica nele e aprofunda a escuta, ate chegar no silencio desse som.

Desenvolver a escuta profunda é compreender a si mesmo. 
No silêncio das vozes mentais ecoam os chamados e as dúvidas que estão sempre em movimento. Infinitos potenciais, no meio de sua própria complexidade ecoam outras vozes, ainda menos audíveis e assim experimentamos a natureza.
Escutar é um pleno ato de entrega e um portal para a transformação e expansao da percepçao.

I received this sweet song on the beautiful frosty morning of Dec. 22nd, 2017. I harmonized it on Dec. 21st of 2019. I just love these tight harmonies! It can also be sung as a round.
