Daniel Weil learned to DJ at Le Baron, this tiny Parisian club where he held his first residency ever. After a decade of traveling from club booths to the festival stage later, eclectism has remained ever since as one of the main components of his music blends. Not only as a DJ but also while doing music supervision for clients such as Dior, being the music director for clubs like David Lynch’s Silencio or curating his label Motordiscs; Daniel’s life purpose is to select a soundtrack that will upgrade the reality.

Neeco’s journey into electronic music began, when his brother handed him a video tape of Jean-Michel Jarre’s live performances back in the mid-90s. Watching giant figures moving and dancing to the rhythms of synthesiser and native percussions, left a mark of eternal curiosity and wonder. Armed with this sense for discovery, his path reached from early Chicago techno, to deep house and the cut-back world of minimal. 

Over the recent years, Neeco has shifted into the slower and deeper realms of electronic music. His significant and experimental style is layered by spherical, yet melancholic atmospheres, inviting baselines and a field of distinctive deepness and complex sound patterns. Always seeking the intriguing elements of jazz and the hypnotising fragments of words spoken by the languages of music allows him to connect with his journey once again.

Neeco has become a regular player at Tempo Comodo, a weekly downtempo night at Sydney's iconic Club77. Other appearances include Waves Retreat and is a resident for the the underground club series Maniac Love.

What should we expect from this set, Neeco? 

"With this set I wanted to bring a selection of different styles of downtempo into the mix, letting a sense of rhythmic calm play into various aspects of house mixed with rolling percussions, only to drift further into a more upbeat experience. Heavy baselines and joyful fragments of house travel side by side with sharp swings of techno. BOOM…Enjoy!"
