Pressboard offers up some heat in Story of a Needle, Tachyon Audio's 13th release. The E.P. consists of three full-length tracks and four DJ tools written on an array of hardware machines and does not shy away from the raw, gritty, and driving techno sounds that define the edgier hypnotic fringes of the genre.

Right out of the gate Mental Trace Cues thrusts listeners into a frenzy with a piercing lead line, wobbling acid bass line, and sweeping effects. Percussive elements and tweaking synth lines drive the track home with force as it progresses into a dark vibe-ridden space of techno magic.

Hypnotic Regression's distorted bass line, syncopated subtly-melodic synth line, rising acid pulse, and mesmerizing synth stab create an atmosphere that will tweak dance floor patrons into the wee-hours. 

The third offering, Beaming Operation, mesmerizes with bleeping robotic synth elements, a hypnotically-driven space bell, and heart-gripping core synth lines that coalesce to create a mind-bending techno atmosphere. In addition, the solid core of driving percussion the track is certain to engulf dance floors.

Locked Groove 1 is a DJ looping tool with an esoteric vocal and rhythmic sound layering that creates a thick, distinct vibe right in line with the flavor of the E.P.

Locked Groove 2 is another DJ looping tool with a completely unique flavor using sci-fi reminiscent bleeps and zaps and a dark echoing chant-like vocal element ready-made for live manipulations.

Needle Assembly 1 and 2 utilize the same elements of the locked grooves and extends them to one minute and three seconds allowing more flexibility in live performance edits and manipulations.

This month on PoleGroup radio we are going to listen to a mix from the "Non Series" boss "Psyk", he has recorded this mix in his home studio in Madrid using tracks from Dj Nobu, Edit Select, James Ruskin and Stanislav Tolkachev to name a few of them. 

Psyk has a new EP coming  up beginning 2020 on his NON series label called " Opal Lake ", 

And on the touring side he will play this Saturday on November 23 @ DGTL in Madrid and the week after, he will go for the first time to Australia where he will play in Melbourne. On New Years Eve we can find him playing gigs in Madrid and Berlin.
