Digger insatiable et producteur poussé par le goût de l’expérimentation, 440 Hz revient avec un tout nouvel EP à la signature bien à lui : basses, rythmiques déviantes et spatialisation millimétrée. Une sortie qui marque également le lancement de Mandem, le sous-label de Dans La Zone dédié à la bass music, aux breaks et aux sonorités UK, entre rythmes percutants et structures libres.

Avec Transient, 440 Hz explore une nouvelle fois les frontières entre ambient et bass, assemblant mélodies aériennes et basses denses, porté par une rythmique tendue et organique. Une forme de nostalgie traverse l’ensemble, entre souvenirs d’enfance et rugosité sonore. Pour prolonger cette dynamique, deux remixes signés Neida et Portway viennent y apporter leurs propres textures.

An insatiable digger and producer driven by a taste for experimentation, 440 Hz is back with a brand new EP featuring his signature bass, deviant rhythms and meticulous spatialisation. The release also marks the launch of Mandem, Dans La Zone's sub-label dedicated to bass music, breaks and UK sounds, with percussive rhythms and free structures.

With Transient, 440 Hz once again explores the boundaries between ambient and bass, bringing together airy melodies and dense bass, carried by a taut, organic rhythm. A kind of nostalgia runs through the whole, between childhood memories and sonic roughness. To extend this dynamic, two remixes by Neida and Portway add their own textures.

This is a subset of my current hypnotic techno favs. I hesitated to upload this because of the two vinyl fuckups, but I'm in the process of growing out of perfectionism so I overlooked it, besides, I think the mix turned out really nice otherwise 🎢

“Clubfoot” on A1 — precision disguised as ease. Gearmaster the Estonian duo deal in pressure, not excess: a thick, rolling, a bubbling acid line, and dub-warmed undertones glowing beneath the surface. Soft, delayed chords drift in and out like vapour, grounding the track in that classic dub techno haze. Reborn under a new name, they sound recalibrated and ready — gears turning, momentum building.

“The Body Radiates” is Earth Trax at his most direct. High-speed 303s coil through off-world, high-definition textures — bright yet tightly controlled. Crisp, hard percussion keeps the pressure constant, while flickering vocal chops cut through the mix with a distinctly ’90s pulse. It moves with purpose, gliding through the breaks and tunnelling toward the peak.

A Flash! — and reality folds. On B1, Olsvangèr delivers a pristine, meditative trip: razor-sharp percussion, a bassline built to unspool the mind. It’s lean, focused, and quietly hallucinatory. Proof he’s fast becoming the go-to for tripped-out house.

“Monolith” by Tifra signals a bold return - a deep, club-ready roller that hums with fizzing percussion, trippy, widescreen FX and a lead washed in echo that keeps everything in motion. It’s crisp, transportive, and unmistakably Tifra. Keep your ears open — the full EP’s on the way.

🌪️Some things rush through you. Suddenly, they appear. Hurricane-like gusts also exist INSIDE oneself, yes.🌪️Such things are strong and very intense.🌀As suddenly, as they appear, they dissapear again. Without you being able to influence. You have to accept it and surrender to it. To this emotional euphoria.🌀
Such EUPHORIA inherent in the mix is deeply infused. A sudden start picks you up and carries you away. And, an abrupt and surprising ending feels like suddenly awakening .. 
That is the stimulus for this part2, passionately timed and mixed by JESSE KATSOPOLIS.
