My first release comes as part of a compilation by KRUG records @sumpfkruege 

I have been a bit shy about sharing this one - both in public and in private. 
Maybe it is because to release my own productions is a new experience for me, maybe because I have listened to this track more times than I have eaten pasta, maybe because my voice is in it. 

BUT! 

I am really happy that today marks the date of my first track being released!
"The Rules" is out now on all platforms, as part of a juicy and trippy compilation by Krug Records, filled with lovely tracks that I look forward to play for a crowd very soon.

The idea for the vocal came from overhearing a conversation about consent at a Burn, quite some time ago. Then I remember playing the first sketch of the track in a class by the amazing @monkymanmusic and getting some really good tips and ideas. I have played it out in some earlier versions, both for a dancefloor and to very patient friends, who lent me their ears and gave feedback along the way. Thanks to each of them for the help.

After such a long time, it's a pleasure to be able to upload a recording again!

So... here's my contribution to last weekend's Høj Luft here in Copenhagen. Unfortunately the mood was so good, that cops got jealous and decided to shut the music down during my set, hence the pretty sharp ending. To smoothen it out a little, I added a closing track in the studio. It wasn't played at the event, but it's a new release from @monkymanmusic , whose lyrics fit very well with my mood and with the music being shut down and all.

A huge thanks goes to MegaMads, to his 41 years and to all the gorgeous people that once again made this city a little more twisted in that special, lovely way: you had been missed.

After one and half years of closed clubs, last weekend marked the removal of restrictions and the reopening of nightlife here in Denmark.

I had the pleasure of being part of such an important moment for Danish club culture by playing at Culture Box Friday night. An insane energy swept the dancefloor, and I will for sure remember those hours as a very clear before-and-after line in this crazy new world of ours.

So here's a toast: may clubs and their culture live long and keep open for many generations of dancers to come - we missed you.

I have been working on this one on and off for way too long - I would pick it up, edit some stuff, leave it there for some time, get back to it and do it all again. But sometimes it's time to let go, put things out there and move on. The production journey continues.

tadoh @ Karrusel Festival 2022

On the day of the winter solstice, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) suddenly felt the urge to fly. They took off from a clearing and flew in northeastern direction. They knew they would reach their destination just by following their inner compass.
After a cold and windy flight over the plains of Schleswig-Holstein and the choppy waters of the Baltic Sea, the witches saw the white chalk cliffs of the island Møn in the distance. The girls sensed they had reached their destination and touched down on top of the steep cliffs at the edge of a forest, where they met 6 boys. This was quite unusual as witches basically never mingle with humans. The boys appeared to be 6 brothers, with ages ranging from 10 (Falke’s age) to 19 (Hekske’s age). They entered the forest where a narrow path led them to a wooden cabin in a hidden glade, where an old man was living. He introduced himself as Thorbjørn and explained he was about to light the traditional midvinter-bål (midwinter bonfire). Hekske (as always without saying a single word) generated a little spark with a graceful hand movement. The glowing spark floated lazily in the air until it set the pile of firewood ablaze. Thorbjørn and the 6 boys looked in awe at this little miracle, and realized that Hekske and Falke were no ordinary girls.
They all sat down in a circle around the crackling fire and felt the pleasant heat. Thorbjørn sang a mysterious old Norse song. Then he told his big secret. This was the very first time he revealed that he was actually a bersærker, who had stayed in hibernation mode for over 1000 years. He told many tales, about his long training to become the most fearsome warrior of the Vikings : the berserker. But after the Battle of Brunanburh (where he fought for king Æthelstan) he threw his double-sided axe into the North Sea while returning home from Albion, and settled down on the island of Møn to live a peaceful life in the middle of this forest, where he became a vegan and never even killed a mosquito. He never ever told anyone about his dark past as a berserker until tonight, the endless midwinternight. Then Thorbjørn slowly stood up and went to his wooden cabin. A few minutes later, he came out of his hut, only wearing a loincloth and a fur pelt of a large animal as a cape. Hekske’s heart skipped a beat when she realized it was a bear’s skin. It was a fearsome sight. Thorbjørn explained this was his uniform which he wore on the battlefield. Before each battle, the berserkers always danced all night around a bonfire until they reached the ‘bersærkergang’, the berserker’s rage during which they lost the fear of death and were ready to fight against a complete army. Thorbjørn told it was a very bad kind of energy.
At that moment Falke had a vision. She actually saw the beauty of this raw energy, or at least a somewhat less powerful version of this energy. And as she had already tamed a dragon, she would surely be capable to handle a berserker, so that he would just get energized for life without reaching the full-blown ‘bersærkergang’. The 6 boys were very eager to don the bear’s skin and perform the berserker’s dance. Falke pointed at Tore, the oldest of the 6 brothers. He disappeared for a while in the log cabin, and came back only wearing a loin cloth and having very cold in the chilling wind. Thorbjørn took off his bear skin and gave it to Tore, who donned it over his head. All of a sudden, Tore didn’t feel the cold anymore. Now he was ready to dance his way to the ‘bersærkergang’ …

 🍀 1. what do you like about the genre u usually play in your sets?
I love the effect it has on me: I enter a special, almost meditative place when playing what I play. And while I take it very seriously, it puts me in a really playful mood at the same time 😀  In general I like it when there is enough space between the beats to feel the music hit you all sort of places, and when you lose the connection with time passing by and the drive keeps you low on your knees for hours on end. 
 
🍀 2. What's the strangest or most unusual talent you have?
I can fold my tongue in unusual ways.  
 
🍀 3. Do you have any special plans for 2023?
One thing that I am sure will feel special is the first Mystic Creatures Festival in September. Since I live in Copenhagen, joining Mystic Tales last summer has finally given me a Berlin-based musical family, and one that I can see myself in as well, both musically and at a human level. I think it will feel like a chosen family gathering. And it's on an island! In a lake! 🤯

💿 Nikotin im Niemandsland 💿

 ✍️ Das Rauchen von Tabakwaren bringt eine ganze Reihe von gesundheitlichen Nachteilen mit sich. Hingegen halten sich die Vorteile in überschaubaren Grenzen. Trotzdem wird in Deutschland extrem viel geraucht. Kann das nur an der stark süchtigmachenden Wirkung des Nikotins liegen? Teilweise bestimmt, jedoch sollte der zwischenmenschliche Benefit nicht unterschätzt werden. Rauchen ist ein geselliger, identitäts- und gemeinschaftsstiftender Vorgang. Eine gemeinsam gerauchte Zigarette verbindet und bleibt dennoch zwanglos. Der speziell riechende Glimmstängel ist eine ambivalente Angelegenheit. Unstrittig sind die langfristigen Nachteile für die menschliche Physis und Psyche. Wie bei so vielem empfiehlt es sich auch hier, bewusst zu konsumieren.

Mystic Creatures Festival: what a stunning way to end summer!

Amazing vibe, lovely crowd, top-notch music and a breathtaking location: definitely one to remember!
Here's my set from the Mystic Ground stage on Sunday from 13-14.30. The merciless heat boiled most of the dancers, myself and one CDJ during my set - but the despite the temperature and the technical issues it was really a fun one.

Thanks to the Mystic crew for creating something so unique and for inviting me to play, thanks to my super supportive friends from Copenhagen and Milan and to the other dancers that defied the scorching sun, and thanks to everyone who made this weekend so special.

tadoh @ Mystic Creatures Festival 2023 - summer's end

Last weekend I had the pleasure to join the celebrations for Rebellion der Träumer's 10 years birthday at Renate in Berlin.

This was nothing short of a spectacular weekend - with lovely people and amazing music for hours on end. Thanks to the packed, smiling and supportive dancefloor the three hours I was behind decks flew by (and I was super happy to get an extra hour on top of my original two!).

Loving high fives go to the friends in front row and to all the dancers, and a special thanks to those who went out of their way to give a word of appreciation after my set, both at Renate and after the event: I usually get super shy when it happens, but it means a lot.

A huge thanks to Renate for hosting the shenanigans and to the Rebellion gang for the invitation and the care - I felt right at home from beginning to end and look forward to connect with y'all next time ❤

tadoh @ Mystic Creatures Festival 2024 / Creatures Corner

It's been some time since I put out my last recording, and I thought it was about time to upload something new.

My original plan was to record from the night with Acid Pauli a couple of weeks ago, but the recorder begged to differ (bummer!). 
Last weekend I was asked to bring a recorder at For Haus' Sake, and it ran all night even if I hadn't planned on uploading.
But the recording turned out fine, and I haven't put out recordings from For Haus' Sake since the very early days of this beloved party series. So, it actually fits me fine to share this, even if it wasn't planned :)

And since we are at it: This one goes out to all the amazing people that keep supporting For Haus' Sake event after event, and that over the years have made it into the fantastic gathering that it has turned out to be. Thank you - to many more to come!

This time I had the pleasure to take over after Eski, Ouhana and Arturo, and to close the night. So here are the first two hours of my set, with some great tunes from friends and artists I admire, lots of sassy vocals and even an unfinished of mine, that I was fairly hesitant to play (but I'm happy I got to test).

It was my fifth time at Bucht, but the first time behind the booth. And since I feel this place had a big influence in shaping my music, it meant a lot to come back and play.

My recording from this year's Mystic Creatures Festival is here!

Saturday morning, 8-10 am at the marvelous Creatures Corner. I had a hard time picturing what the floor could look like at this hour, so in the end I decided to prepare only an opening track, and let the rest flow, crossing a little through genres, with more groove than bounce and a lot of melody. It was Fun with a big F, and seeing all the smiling faces on the dancefloor at this hour was a touching experience.

It was the best ending of festival season I could have imagined, with a spectacular gathering of humans who all made it so special. Thank you all - my heart is full.

Fusion my love - what an amazing playground you are!

At this year's festival I had the chance to overlook the playground from behind the decks, while playing a deep set on the solar powered Solar Soundsystem, in the perfect setting of the Kinder Space. The audience was an amazingly playful one too: picture for yourself kids and adults playing all sort of games, hammocks in the sun, with soap bubbles floating away and crazy installations all over the place. Since my first Fusion in 2010, this crazy playground has been very much responsible for my passion for electronic music, and in many ways it led me into who I am and what I do today. tadoh - Fusion Festival 2018 Thursday 28/06

I didn't think I would upload this one, mainly because my set time got cut down right when I started, then prolonged, then cut again sort of in the middle of things, so it somewhat felt unfinished. But it was nonetheless good fun to play: an improvised short set that followed and lifted my by then pretty tired self and the vibe of the always cheerful square that the area revolves around. Now I had the time to listen it through, and I'm happy I pressed the record button.

tadoh - Fusion Festival 2018 saturday 30/06

Oh my.. We had such an amazing Borderland! This year at Hedeland marked two important first times as well: Nicola's first burn, and the first time ever we (@mallecph and tadoh) played together. And that was serious fun.
Friday night we played at Deep Dive between 22-02, and really had an unforgettable time. The people and the energy were just perfect, and this improvised thing turned into one of our best DJ experiences to date. Unfortunately, we didn't record the set. We thought we would leave it at that, but so many people asked for a recording in the days after, that we decided to re-record the whole thing once at home. So here it is.

A couple of things we have learnt in the process (or, rather, got confirmed):
1. remember to take a recorder with you and record the shit out of everything! Rather have to empty a full SD-card later on, than regret not having done it.
2. Playing for a colourful, playful and super hot crowd is a million times more fun than playing at home. The energy we got from playing at Deep Dive was incredible, and was what drove us for the four hours we played. At home it all felt more dull, harder to get into the flow, we made more mistakes, we missed you lot.

So here you are, we have re-recorded the last three hours of our set. We got to dive deep into our music libraries, played faster than we often do, found older gems that we hadn't played in ages, but that still worked like a charm. We hope you were there. And we hope this lives up to your memories of it. If not, we hope you'll like this no less.

For Haus' Sake with Jacob Groening

Welcome to a little challenge I created for myself.

In the coming weeks and months, I am going to record a mix for every set of ten BPMs starting from the 70s and ending with the 120s.
The idea is to dig through my library, being a bit less focused on the novelty of the tracks that I otherwise might be, and play around with slow and fast.

The rules are simple:
- Pitch up or down, but stay within the set of ten. Meaning the tracks in the 70s mix, start originally with 7x, and nothing above the line of 80 is allowed in. (An exception for this specific episode: anything between 0 and 79.99 was allowed here)
- Only use what's already on the hard drive. No hunting for new music specifically for this.
- The mix should be at least one hour long.

So... 
We start on the low end, with what my guess is was the toughest of them all. I don't have much below 80 bpm, and somehow those tracks are often strange, glitchy, perhaps not meant for a dance floor or mixing but for individual listening.
It took effort, but in the end I think I got through it. And wow I love the energy of these sloth tracks, particularly in the second half of the mix.

I hope this little trip will be to your liking - see you soon(ish) for the 80s.

Recording of my Fusion set, played at the Kinderspace on Thursday between 15-17. 

I had feared that some technical problems had corrupted the recording, but luckily it turns out that the crackling was only in the speakers and not on the recording itself. Phew!

Tadoh @ Fusion Festival 2019

Back where we started.
A year ago at Muumimaa at Borderland @mallecph and I played together for the first time.
We were back this year, and had a blast of a week with three b2b sessions, in which we played both slow and fast.

One of the recordings (Deep Dive) was corrupted (shame, that was a fun one!), one (Silly Sanctuary) will come up on Malle's profile, and here's the third. It's the recording of our set from Muumimaa, Saturday night (into Sunday) 3-5 am, most likely the fastest and hardest set we played this week (and for me, in a long time!). That, and the confirmation of this magic b2b combo, was really good fun :)

Thanks to everyone who made this Borderland so special, to the sound camp crews for inviting us and putting so much love into this, and to you for listening to this.

Dancing with the Moomins - tadoh b2b Malle @ Borderland 2019

Moyn Moyn, what a little pearl of a festival you are!

I arrived at the festival Saturday evening and had gotten very little sleep before, as I went straight from a club event in Copenhagen to the long bus tour. Yet, catching up with old friends and breathing in the vibe of the place gave an incredible energy boost, and playing there was really a big pleasure and a lot of fun.

So... here it is! The recording of my set from Saturday night into Sunday (3-5 am) at the secret and absolutely stunning Siedbruck floor, built by the wonderful and big-hearthed crew behind Silk Sessions (a huge THANK YOU to y'all for making my Moyn Moyn a great experience, again <3 ).

Slow, Dizzy & Smoke Machine - 01012020

Here's the second chapter of a little challenge I threw myself in.

About a year ago I uploaded a mix, Before 79, consisting of tracks below 79 bpm. It was very well received and I promised myself I'd quickly release the second mix. Then loads of good things happened and I never found the time. I did now. So here's "Have you met the 80s?", a DJ mix within the range 80-89 bpm, ready to accompany your slow isolation time.

The masterplan: I am going to record a mix for every set of ten BPMs starting from the 70s and ending with the 120s.
The idea is to dig through my music library, being a bit less focused on the novelty of the tracks that I otherwise might be, and play around with slow and fast.

The rules are simple:
- Pitch up or down, but stay within the set of ten. Meaning the tracks in the 80s mix, start originally with 8x, and nothing above the line of 90 or below 80 is allowed in.
- Only use what's already on the hard drive. No hunting for new music specifically for this.
- The mix should be at least one hour long.

I remember the 70s mix to be super tough, while Have you met the 80s?, in comparison, was much easier. My library had more to offer in the 80s, a few tracks I've played out in super slow occasions, and most of it mixes well. However, it wasn't easy, and it took some time achieve a result whose flow I could be happy with.

Have You Met The 80s?

Friends, THANK YOU FOR A MINDBLOWING FUSION! 

It is known that Fusion is a state of mind. Somehow I have very few memories of it this year's festival. But I'm pretty sure I was there. Here's two pieces of evidence: a picture of the rocket, that was found on my phone (the image you see here) 🚀, and a recording named "Fusion 2020" on found on my hard drive.

The backbone of this comes from an intimate but fun open-air here in Copenhagen, that I then readapted some. While recording it I got pretty emotional to be honest. Fusion was my entrance gate to this music, and I haven't skipped a year since 2010. Luckily 2017 showed that summer happens also in the Fusion-less years.

This set is a bit of a BPM rollercoaster. It starts one place, go up, then down, then I drop 20 BPM at once and start again at 90, to end around the 113. I like to think that the different sections will also take you by hand on a little imaginary journey through our favourite playground. We probably start at fernab's beach paradise, head over to Sonnendeck, back to Karla Kutter, jump for a beer at Räuberhöle before heading to Tanzwüste and perhaps a little sprinkle of Bachstelzen - just to make sure that everything is out of control and as crazy as it is supposed to be at this time and place of the year.

Keep strong out there, keep clean outside and dirty inside, and hope to catch you soon, or at the latest at the 2021 rocket-science enthusiasts gathering.

So: here comes my Fusion set for 2020 - don't let the pandemic cheat you and get your yearly dose of rocket medicine.

Fusion 2020 - with love and rockets

Hard times behind, hard times ahead. But I'm truly happy that we managed to squeeze some soft and fluffy times in between the two.

The F.A.M. crew invited for an intimate gathering, that turned out to be the last dance before a new round of restrictions here in Denmark.

I had a bunch of tracks I really wanted to play for a dancefloor, no matter its size, and I'm happy the opportunity presented itself just in time.

So here's the recording of the closing set of this beautiful night. You'll find some of my favorite tracks of the past months and a few unreleased gems, including a work in progress of mine ;)

Hope it'll take off the edges of your hard times, too.

F.A.M. - The last dance before eternal boredom

The darkest days are behind us, and here comes a little solstice present from me: my first real original production, as a free download.

In the past months I've spent more time in the studio and less time behind (or in front of) a DJ booth, and while I still have a lot to learn, I'm happy to have gotten here where things (begin to :P) sound as I want them to. The backbone of this is based on my first full immersion in analog gear.
