In the newest nightlife, a growing collective consensus arrives: 
 
Objectivity outweighs the obtuse—because we learned the discomfort of the truth hurts less when navigated together instead of merely felt together. We learned what standing our ground feels like when the voices we didn’t defend look us in the eye at the club. We learned how many never had access to the spaces they inspired until we reshaped our relationship to artist fees and agency fees over cover charges. We learned to identify privilege by watching White artists in power disrupt by no longer dissenting in secret.   
 
We learned speaking in whispers gets us nowhere healthy fast, because fear guards money while humility grows it. We speak truth to artists, promoters, and venues profiting from fear and intimidation as right-wing dogwhistles are indignantly rewarded on social media. We learned to challenge the music journalism platforms choosing passivity, tokenism, and dismissal by confronting our own who throw themselves at them — only for a brief boost of engagement, much less a booking. 
 
We found our own way of speaking truth to neutrality as those proclaiming “equality for all” look the other way from abuse, and explain away exploitation for the sake of a “career”.  We witnessed the resurgence of our hyperlocal scenes upon redirecting authority away from White mediocrity and back to the marginalized peoples whose lives inspired them all. We learned why certain spaces and circles not so secretly never wanted them there at all, and decided our artistry’s legitimacy was never theirs to define.
 
Maybe in the newest nightlife we realized we became the thing we swore to fight against, not because of a tragedy rattling us awake but the hierarchies we maintained simply left us bored.   
 
In the newest nightlife, more and more come to understand who pays the cost of escapism. We understand exclusion Or do they? How many fight to preserve the way it was in the name of preservation disguised as tradition? The newest nightlife is ours to define before it becomes ours to build. Your voice is all that's missing.
