Libro de Isaías 26, 7-9. 12. 16-19

La senda del justo es recta
porque tú, Señor, le allanas el sendero.
En el camino de tus mandamientos te buscamos,
anhelando, Señor, tu nombre y tu recuerdo.

Mi alma te desea por la noche
y mi espíritu te busca por la mañana,
porque tus mandamientos son la luz de la tierra
y enseñan justicia a los habitantes del orbe.

Tú nos darás, Señor, la paz,
porque todo lo que hemos hecho
eres tú quien lo ha hecho por nosotros.

Acudimos a ti, Señor, en el peligro,
cuando nos angustiaba la fuerza de tu castigo.
Como una mujer que va a dar a luz,
que se retuerce y grita angustiada,
así éramos, Señor, en tu presencia:
concebimos y nos retorcimos,
¡pero lo único que hemos dado a luz ha sido viento!
No le hemos dado salvación al país,
no le han nacido habitantes al mundo.

Tus muertos vivirán, sus cadáveres resucitarán,
despertarán jubilosos los que habitan en los sepulcros,
porque tu rocío es rocío luminoso
y la tierra de las sombras dará a luz.
