This was originally a piece of music I was composing as incidental music for a play of Slaughterhouse 5 
However, in October 2007, a pupil at the school where I was teaching died in a car crash. She was only 15 years old. 
I decided to restructure the material into a threnody (hymn of mourning) to her.
