Welcome back to The Chapel. 

Today we are exploring the sounds of Afro House, a sub-genre of House music that originated in South Africa in the early 1990s.
 
	The genre has its roots predominantly in South Africa, and it is classed as Deep House or Soulful House there, although it has its own unique sound, which is characterized by its original African tribal sounds and rhythms reflected in the stripped-back percussion. 
	This music was a product of great political and ruling freedoms in 1994 as Nelson Mandela came into light for South Africa. As often with a major change in politics, this change brought newfound freedom and an uprising of musical talent and expression through Afro House.
