Mit dem neuen Doppelrelease VON ZEITEN präsentiert das KELLER LABEL erneut eine kleine Auswahl an interessanten Dancefloor-Tracks von vielversprechenden Produzenten. Neben etablierten Artists wie ARJUNA SCHIKS, MONK ERNIE, DAN BAY oder JUREK RIEGLER, finden sich mit ODYSSEAS und HARMON auch bisher noch kaum gesichtete Namen auf dem Release wieder.
Auch wenn die Lockdowns inzwischen fast die Regelmäßigkeit unserer Releases übertreffen: Wir müssen tun was wir immer tun: Musik zelebrieren!

With the new double release VON ZEITEN, the KELLER LABEL is once again presenting a small selection of interesting dance floor tracks from promising producers. In addition to established artists such as ARJUNA SCHIKS, MONK ERNIE, DAN BAY or JUREK RIEGLER, there are also two absolute newcomers on the release: ODYSSEAS and HARMON.
Even if the lockdowns now almost surpass the regularity of our releases: We have to do what we always do: celebrate music!

Generation of Power

In der gängigen sozialwissenschaftlichen Fachlektüre werden die Jahrgänge 1981-1996 als Generation Y bezeichnet. Kinder welche ab 1997-2012 das Licht der Welt erblickten, werden weitläufig als Generation Z betitelt. In dieser kleinen Ausführung umschreibt der Begriff Generation YZ die Geburtsjahrgänge von 1994-2001. Diese Einteilung ist nicht fix und es gilt: Jeder der sich angesprochen fühlt, ist es auch.

Die Generation YZ definiert sich einerseits durch ihren starken Hang zum Individualismus, anderseits schätzen sie auch die Gemeinschaft mit Gleichgesinnten. Die Biografien sind bunt wie ein Blumenstrauß. Ob als Auszubildender, Student oder Angestellter, jeder hat Träume und Ziele für sein Leben und verfolgt diese auch mehr oder minder gradlinig. Trotz der natürlich gewachsenen Unterschiede vereint diese junge Menschen ihre gleichartig verlaufende Kindheit bzw. Jugend. 
Die Generation YZ unserer Breitengrade wuchs behütet auf. In einer Zeit in der man für eine Verabredung das Haustelefon nutze, sich zum spielen draußen an der frischen Luft traf und in der Regel völlig verausgabt, aber glücklich Abends nach Haus kam. Im fortgeschrittenen Alter wurde das Spielzeug Repertoire um technische Tools ergänzt. Neben der Playstation und den ersten Computern, verbreiteten sich auch MP3 Player wie ein Lauffeuer. Die ersten Mobiltelefone kamen auf den Markt und über Infrarot und Bluetooth konnten Musik und Fotos innerhalb kürzester Zeit geteilt werden. Simultan expandierte das Internet, mit all seinen Anwendungen und schier unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten. Soziale Medien wie MySpace oder Schüler VZ erfreuten sich großer Beliebtheit. In einer nächsten Welle der Innovation kamen die Smartphones an den Mann und die Frau. Mobiles Internet wurde schrittweise ein alltägliches Gut und schnell gewöhnte man sich an die neuen Gegebenheiten. Wo Licht ist da fällt auch ein Schatten und so offenbarten sich auch negative Seiten der technologischen Entwicklung. Internet induzierte Zwänge und Süchte offenbarten ihr unschönes Gesicht und für viele wurde aus dem Segen ein Fluch. Wie so oft im Leben ist der Mittelweg der goldene. 
Was macht die Generation YZ so besonders? Sie sind die Schnittstelle zwischen analog und digital. Diese Menschen wuchsen ohne täglichen Internetzugang auf und mit einem Bewusstsein für die Schönheit der Natur. Sie betrachten die Welt mit kritischem Blick und hinterfragen die bestehenden Strukturen. Wenn es drauf ankommt, können sie Dinge bewegen und ausgelassen feiern sowieso.
Viele mögen in diesen Tagen planlos sein, doch für jeden gibt es eine sinnvolle Aufgabe. Ich bin fest davon überzeugt, dass diese Generation großes vollbringen wird. In ihnen steckt genau die richtige Mischung aus Eigensinn und Gemeinschaftsgefühl.

Der Podcast von Dan Bay ist geprägt von einem stetigen Stimmungswechsel. Mal wirkt er melancholisch und drückend wie ein bewölkter Himmel. Dann wiederum klärt sich die Sicht und die Sonne bricht durch die Wolkendecke. Es fühlt sich an wie ein Tag voller Höhen und Tiefen, nur um am Ende glücklich und um viele Erfahrungen reicher, müde und zufrieden in sein Bett zu fallen.

Combining field recordings from all over the world with vintage synthesizers, Dan Bay delivers the 14th EP on Heimlich Musik, complete with four original mixes and remixes by Oberst & Buchner, Le Rubrique, Spaniol, and kalupke.

All original mixes are based on organic instrument recordings and a variety of percussion sounds. Adding melancholic synthesizer lines and classic drum machine samples, Dan Bay transforms original ideas into versatile dance music.

Remixing „One Night in Kerala“, Heimlich’s very own Oberst & Buchner give their energetic interpretation a subtle 80s touch, while Spaniol’s approach is taking the original on a hypnotic trip with a focus on the epic main theme recorded by guitarist Max Clouth.

Le Rubrique’s treatment of „Phishing Wales“ comes as a stripped-down version of the original with deep Dub Techno elements creating an ecstatic atmosphere, and Cologne-based Duo kalupke is rounding up the EP perfectly with their unique relaxed and dreamy style.

The next release scheduled for the 1st of March 2021, was composed by Eat My Butterfly, an artist from the Reunion Island. Behind this chrysalis, hides Dilo, percussionist, composer, and performer whose musical signature mixes as much the traditional Maloya as the primitive grunt of her synthesizers.

The title Déor (Outside in Creole language) was written in the spring of 2020 during the 1st lockdown and echoes this period of calm and introspection for humans where nature and the singing of birds had regained their rights for a few weeks.

Three remixes complete this spring release from three different continents. Lagartijeando, child of the Argentinian hinterland and author of many releases on ZZK Records, Leeu, South African artist, whose Suidtronica made its place in the country of kwaito and deep house, and Dan Bay, whose many outings are an invitation to travel and contemplation.

One year to the day, after time has stopped the space of a lockdown, this title comes to remind each one of us of this introspective period in history and especially not to forget that we, humans, are only guests on this earth.

The journey of Fine Beatz began in 2001 with the goal of becoming a music label. However, Fine Beatz started by dipping their toes into the world of techno by putting on live events, supporting events and acting as a booking agency. It took this experience, working in music production with our Fine Beatz artists and five years before the „Fine Beatz EP" was released in 2006. During this five years, the Fine Beatz brand was becoming more and more popular due to the exposure from putting on various events with new kinds of sounds, as well as the first radio broadcast (2003). Fine Beatz has always made quality a main priority, so after 5 hectic years of finetuning our skills, in 2006 the music label was born and ready to say hello to the worldwide music market. The style & philosophy of Fine Beatz is simple: embrace the ever changing styles of techno and produce high quality music.

Keller is an independent label for electronic music, based in berlin. Breaking down the barriers between melodic techno and deep house, our releases explore the unknown territories of sound.

After one year in clubs, abandoned buildings, dark basements and many joyful open airs, we released our first compilation, containing tracks of the main members of Keller: Beatmoertelz, Agja, Jozak Sander and Cinthie. The first three founded the label in spring 2012, but we operate much longer.

Keller is an underground party community around our hometown berlin, always searching for different and special locations. We have our own headquarter, production studios and club in Berlin-Neukölln.
