For our season finale, we interview new-media artist, PHD candidate and Lecturer at RMIT University, Tyler Payne.

Tyler's work focuses on the genre of self-portraiture in photography and video to investigate womens' embodiment through the lens of gendered advertising. She interrogates the impact that social media platforms such as Instagram have on women and their ability to visualise and share images of themselves.

Using a combination of video, still photography and electro-bricolage, Tyler investigates "the oppressive nature of the platform and the damages inherent in fitness and celebrity culture".

During our talk we discuss her primary research subject, Kim Kardashian.

In a time when online classrooms and meetings have become both indispensable and mundane features of the university, STUDIOUS DRIFT asks: What kind of university becomes possible when digital tools are not taken for granted but hacked into and tinkered with in order to set study adrift? In part a meditation on the essence of the studio space, this book looks at ways we can creatively and critically muddle through the rise of e-learning logics to redefine education. Authors Tyson E. Lewis and Peter B. Hyland both teach at the University of North Texas, and are joined here today by colleague and studio artist James Thurman.


Tyson E. Lewis is professor of art education in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas.

Peter B. Hyland is director of the Jo Ann (Jody) and Dr. CHarles O. Onstead Institute for Education in the College fo Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas.

James Thurman is associate professor of metalsmithing and jewelry in the Department of Studio Art at the University of North Texas.

É um Prazer , eu me chamo Maurício de Oliveira Brito , Mentor do Projeto Digital Culture.
Bom, o meu primeiro contato com a Música Eletrônica eu tinha 11,12 anos.
Já apaixonado por Música comecei a me interessar pelo Hip Hop e Rap. Aos 14 anos, passei a ouvir música Dance, o que me levou ao Psytrance em 2003, me apaixonando pelo estilo, Literalmente.
 Eu fazia algumas festas em casa para amigos e tocava músicas de vários estilos já pensando humildemente em me tornar um Dj. Na época não tinha nenhuma habilidade com os equipamentos, e isso me despertou ainda mais o interesse em aprender.
Então, eu comecei a estudar sobre a história da Musica Eletrônica, a ouvir CDs de compilações de música eletrônica, com todos os tipos de atmosferas. Passei a pesquisar sobre os artistas, as Vertentes , tendências, festas raves, até chegar nos equipamentos de mixagem , me aperfeiçoando e dando inicio a minha carreira de Dj. 
Dois anos depois me interessei pela produção musical, lançando o Projeto Live Digital Culture. 
Com Mixagens precisas, marcadas por linhas melódicas psicodélicas, e Bass Lines sérios e bem ritmados, falando sobre o meu estilo, podemos caracterizar ao Psy Trance!
Já atuei em várias festas e festivais no Brasil e fora, dividindo palco com grandes Artistas da cena Eletrônica Mundial.
