The movie received mixed reviews from Critics, Sify.com wrote "start rolling the viewer wonders what the makers of this film trying to tell amidst all the ruckus and mayhem on screen for more than two and a half painful hours. If you are a fan of Mammootty, watch some of his brilliant movies from the past or even the recent Paleri Manikyam to have a feel of his genius. Sadly, this one is nowhere in that league"[1] K C Asok from Deccan Herald Wrote that "The nearly three-hour saga is a virtual shindig. Actors suffer due to poor dubbing and the perplexing plot make the cast and situations appear contrived."[2] Paresh C Palicha from Rediff.com wrote "All in all, the actors deserve a better film than this ho-hum film." Dhrona old fashioned story the film revolves around a mysterious old mansion believed to be haunted by a ghost. [3]



Overall, Drona could easily be placed a notch or two below some of the worst movies I have seen. Also, hardly have I witnessed an audience so restless during a movie.
 Goldie's childhood promise to Abhishek could turn out to be his worst nightmare ever! At the box-office, Kidnap as a rival will severely make a dent in Drona's collections. Weekend should be decent, but Monday onwards the fall could well be inevitable.


"When I wrote this film, I had written so much that it cannot be incorporated in a single film. The end of the film leaves a question mark. So there is already a story before and after the film. It has a prequel and sequel written in the story form. I am sure people would like to know what happened before and after this," Behl told IANS in an interview.

Behl said it now depends on Eros, Rose movies and Abhishek Bachchan to come up together as he is ready to start the sequel immediately after its release.

Behl said Abhishek would be part of the sequel but as far as other actors are concerned he has not decided yet.

What about casting Aishwarya Rai? "Aishwarya is my 'Bhabhi' and if she likes the subject and role, it would be privilege and honour for me to work with her."

Goldie Behl, who is the son of veteran director producer late Ramesh Behl, debuted as a director with 
Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai
 which starred Abhishek Bachchan along with Rani Mukherjee and Sushmita Sen.

Behls and Bachchans are family friends as Ramesh Behl had produced and directed various films with Big B which included hits like 
Kasme Vaade
 and 
Pukar
.

"Abhishek is my younger brother and I want him in every film unless he has no problem with it."

So is there any chance for other actors in Goldie's film? "It will all depend on the script. I go with the casting according to the script and if there is any chance for any other actor I along with Abhishek will decide on whom to cast in the film."

About his future plans, Behl said after "Drona" his production company Rose Movies are planning for three movies, one of which will be directed by him.

"Film production has been our family business and we are now trying to come up with it in a big way," Behl added.


I love your point about men and women and the illustration of the conversation in "When Harry Met Sally" (one of my favorite movies). You're confused, but then again, isn't all of society confused these days about what conclusions about gender are acceptable to share in public?


I wonder how this undercurrent of confusion is showing up in our movies these days? For example, another Irish movie "The Banshees of Inisherin," where two guys who had been lifelong friends are confused about how to continue their friendship.
