What I like about this song is that it has some nice qualities overall. The inspiration for the song is based on the idea of becoming a better version of yourself on life's journey, and although the song is more emotional, there is strength to be found. I like the beat and the chill presence of the vocals, creating a nice atmosphere and tone. I think it's a solid piece of music and hope listeners enjoy, getting something positive from it.

I'm Not Broken

I wrote the poem to this as a teenager. I was the Charmer... I was humbled later in life, but I was the person who manipulated other people to feel in control. Feeling different in my formative years created a monster whose focus was mostly on myself. Survival mode was ON. I am not that person anymore and haven't been for a long time. These lyrics I modified in 2025 express being free from that persona.

This album came together during a transitional moment—late summer giving way to fall, just before the onset of winter’s stark embrace. Fittingly, I’m releasing it today, as the first snowfall blankets the ground with up to 15 cm of fresh snow. This time of year always hits me hard. I find myself mourning the end of summer, which seems to vanish in the blink of an eye.

Even through difficult seasons, there’s always space for hope—even when we feel like we’re At Capacity. I’ve come to believe that hardship can shape us, even if it rarely feels that way in the moment.

The title BLINK came to me from that very sense of time slipping through our fingers. As we age, it seems to accelerate—yet paradoxically, it can also slow to a crawl, almost painfully so. At 46, I’m more attuned than ever to that feeling: you blink, and it’s already over. During a long-overdue visit to my optometrist, she reminded me to blink more often to avoid dry eyes. That simple advice sealed it—BLINK was the perfect name.

but my sap rises
to catch stars

with love and care,

is no Icarus falling

I come from a background of classical music (I played the French Horn in different orchestras, and also learnt the piano,) I spent a LOT of time in dark techno clubs growing up and have always loved jazz...  I suppose this all shoves together to make the kind of music I come up with...!

Lazriel Fontaine is a London-based composer and avant-garde sound designer whose music drifts between cinematic orchestration and experimental electronics. Born in Hannover, Germany, while his father was stationed abroad, Lazriel spent much of his later life moving across the world — a journey that shaped the diverse textures and emotional range of his work.
His compositions draw inspiration from artists such as Ludovico Einaudi, Two Steps from Hell, Dexter Britain, and the nostalgic pulse of 80s synthwave, blending them into pieces that are both hauntingly intimate and grandly expansive.
Fontaine’s music often explores the tension between structure and improvisation, weaving together influences from classical minimalism, film scoring, and modern sound design. Each piece feels like a landscape — shifting, atmospheric, and deeply tied to memory and movement.
Though eclectic in style, his work remains united by a search for resonance: music that lingers, unsettles, and uplifts.

I'm a songwriter lyricist and a singer. I'm sure you can tell I'm also a gay man. I write my music from my perspective - but I'm not a parody, my sounds aren't vulgar even if they walk the line of being provocative. I sing on a few of these tracks, naturally :-) but now I'm able to create the songs as I hear them in my head. My music tastes are eclectic. I truly love all music. My process is melodies to lyrics to songs ... then on paper (old school, lol!), all my songs are a part of who I am. With a lifelong love of the audio-visual world, I'm now stepping into the spotlight to share my songs, each a story pulled from my life. I invite you to listen, feel, and connect through my music. Thank you for visiting! I've always felt a strong need to express myself creatively. During the pandemic, music production became my personal outlet. I love exploring samples, composing, singing, and playing instruments like the flute, piano, and didgeridoo—always seeking out sounds that inspire me.
Since I began learning dance styles such as salsa, bachata, and zouk, my music has been deeply influenced by their rhythms, beats, and tempos. This fusion continues to fuel my artistic journey in exciting ways.
It’s very important to note that my songs are works in progress. I do the best I can with the limited time I have, so currently, each song is posted “AS IS”! Trust me, I hear all the imperfections..😒 My hope is to someday carve out more time and resources to polish and refine these tracks, so they can truly align with my original vision 😊. Ps.
