'Breeze of Love' is a love song, a lyrical weaving of beautiful memories, mixed with reminders to myself to choose to love and understand, whenever it is possible. To not let the few bad moments in a day overshadow all the many wonderful experiences. 
This song is one of my unreleased old favourite songs which I completely re-worked in 2021, originally written for voice and lyre. Now magically transformed with Paul Landry's beautiful additions.

Too Beautiful To Ignore

The Lost Trades are a trio of up and coming Wiltshire based singer songwriters (Jamie R Hawkins, Phil Cooper and Tamsin Quin) brought together by a mutual love of modern folk and roots music. Having joined forces in late 2019, their close three part harmonies have consistently drawn comparisons to Crosby Stills & Nash and Fleetwood Mac. A global pandemic meant their debut tour in 2020 was cut short and the three retreated to their songwriting rooms and studio in an effort to condense the initial excitement into an album they could tour once the world opened up again. The resulting album is “The Bird, The Book & The Barrel” which was released in June 2021. The album reached the Top 40 Official Folk Album Charts for September 2021.

Phil joins us to tell us his journey from singing in a church choir to the folk scene, how the pandemic has filtered through, in this generations songwriting due to their emotions at the time of writing the new songs for the future.He also describes their journey and the way promoting and releasing new music has changed in this era with social media, streaming channels and self marketing in an ever changing world.

I wrote and recorded an album with my son Stevie (age 12) during the covid lockdown of 2020.  It's called The Lockdown, and its 16 songs about family, written by a family.  

This song is a mash up of all of our favorite hooks from the album.  It was created by the very brilliant MisterUsman, who lives in Pakistan and is in the process of taking over the world.  He is the most incredibly talented producer we have ever met, and we talked to half the ones on Fiverr (I can’t even guess the number).  He has a combination of technical skill and musical intuition that ensure he will be very wildly successful.  All we said to him was “…think Number 9”, and fair to say he crushed it. I wrote and recorded an album with my son Stevie (age 12) during the covid lockdown of 2020.  It's called The Lockdown.  Come listen to 16 songs about family, written by a family.  

This is one of Stevie's "signature songs", where he freestyled (improvised) the lyrics over a static guitar riff.  Those signature songs were first featured on our acoustic e.p. Childhood.  All of the songs deal with issues affecting kids.  This song is not a drug song.  This song is about overcoming peer pressure, and being strong enough to make your own decisions.

25 Years

I formed a family band with my son Stevie (age 12) during the 2020 covid lockdown.  Those were dark and sadly divided days for our nation.  This is our prayer, for your family and ours, and for the country.  This song is is called The Lockdown.
