A day like any other.
A day like no other.
The shyest nymph
crossed our threshold.

She spoke but little,
she did not laugh,
but held a peaceful smile
on lips, 
in eyes.

She brought me flowers -
pink and white,

Flowers that by right
belonged to her,
the nymph,

There’s not much I want to say beyond what the song already does. This was a day that never left me. A choice. A hope. A silence. And a goodbye that didn’t come with words. The Day the Thunder Fell - Fractures: Reimagined by 4ME2BEFREE

This song feels especially close to our hearts. At its core is a simple refrain: “I love and accept myself for who I am. I may not be perfect, but I do what I can.” These words began as a little mantra Lucy would sing to herself in difficult times, a reminder to soften into self-acceptance. Over time, it evolved into a simple acoustic folk song, and then after a few band jams with Alex wound up being an epic cinematic folk ballad!

At the start we felt quite self-conscious singing those lyrics out loud. It has gotten easier over time, but even now it still feels vulnerable. 

It has been a transformative process turning something so personal into music we now get to share. We hope it connects with you in whatever way, and is a reminder that we’re all on this human journey together.

Morgan le Fay (note the masculine appellation) fares worse than any other character except Mordred (her son with Arthur) in the retellings by Cistercian monks who satanise her without ever quite removing her potent role in Arthur's holy progress - she still provides the scabbard for Excalibur which means Arthur cannot bleed from war wounds (until he loses it), she provides the magical disguise by which Lancelot impregnates the Grail Maiden with Galahad (believing her to be Guinevere) and adds a similar riddling magic to the quest of the Green Knight. Crucially, she also helps remove the dying Arthur to Avalon, from which he will one day to return to save us. She is far too elemental and cryptic - 'fatal' is good word for her - to be exactly benign even in the original mythology but the Cisercians' femme fatale tells us as much about their fear of women as it does about this mother/wife/death goddess.

Morgan and Arthur had the same mother - Ygraine of Cornwall - but her father was Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall whilst his was officially Sir Ector but actually Uther Pendragon who killed Gorlois and came to Ygraine's bed wearing a magical helmet (provided by Merlin) which made him look like the husband he'd killed. Morgan returns the magical compliment later by making the Grail Maiden look like Guinevere in order to seduce Lancelot.

Now for something completely different: "Le Navire" drifts between English and French in a bilingual love letter that uses the language of the sea to chart the course of devotion.
