The brilliant Doctor's return to form did not go as he anticipated it would. Siphoning everyone's memories of him at one of the most terrifying moments they've had with him lead him to rebuilding himself not quite how he was, but how he believes everyone sees him: a cruel, merciless being who would stop at nothing to be whole again.

Throughout the first phase of the battle against Dr. Gaster, Kris must, slowly but surely, dismantle the ideas the Doctor has gotten about himself.

With help of the monsters whose SOULs were absorbed, Kris tries to rekindle the better memories they all have of Dr. Gaster to help him rebuild himself the way he truly was, rather than as the demonic misrepresentation of him and his mistakes.

Once all of the good memories have been restored, and Dr. Gaster fully rebuilt himself upon these memories, he seems to have calmed down a bit. With his mind fully cleared from the bad thoughts, all of the knowledge he had of his most recent experiments before his passing, and some of the conclusions he drew, came rushing back to him.

With this knowledge back in hand, Dr. Gaster knows what he must do next.

Looking to break the mold.

===== NOTES =====
Kris finally starts their journey back home, meeting up with Suzy and Lesley at the foot of the mountain. As the three of them walk, Kris and Suzy tell Lesley all about their adventure.

They encounter various monsters along the way, some of them stick around to near the end of the journey home, depending on whether Kris met certain conditions when sparing them. Every main boss Kris has faced makes appearances as well, but as they're busy with their own things won't end up sticking around.

Specific events are faintly displayed in the sky as Kris and Suzy are (implied to be) talking about them. No actual dialogue is really shown, though there is the occasional bit of text just like there is in Undertale for each of the monsters, here detailing their future ambitions.
