Summer is well and truly underway as we roll into August, and landing back on Toolroom for our next release is Sydney native Alex Preston who returns with his chunky groover ‘It’s Not Over’.

Back on the firm the DJ, producer, guitar enthusiast and label owner of his Basement Sound imprint, Alex Preston has built a solid reputation on the dance floor, with his signature blend of feel-good Disco, House, and Funk styles. 

Having scored success with his 2021 summertime hit single ‘Love You Better’ which has recently hit 5 million streams alone on Spotify, Alex Preston cemented his status as a prolific and solid songwriter. ‘It’s Not Over’ itself is a chunky Disco focused groove, cut with choppy Rhodes keys, slick guitar licks and that seminal First Choice acappella to add that classic house feel. All in all, this one’s a solid return to form from one of Sydney’s finest artists’ Alex Preston, get ‘It’s Not Over’ on repeat this summer!

NECHTO is the label from Nastia, who many know as one of the most influential artists from the Ukraine that has included music by Stef Mendesidis, R.M.K aka Roberto, and Stanislav Tolkachev, amongst many others.

After releasing his 2022 EP on Nastia's label, Lee Holman returns to NECHTO with his unique techno sound also featured on Kaiser's K S R and Philippe Petit's Knotweed. Having established a strong international reputation with an unwavering underground mentality, he has performed at esteemed locations such as Tresor Berlin, Khidi Tbilisi, and Corsica Studios in London, both as a live artist and DJ.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "It's Not Over" that wastes no time with fierce juddering kick and metallic hats. The stabbing Detroit-esque chords and added synth notes create a soulful and up-tempo vibe, before the old-school vocals take hold and alight this behemoth to the highest levels of dance floor ecstasy.
