In this episode Baxie talk to former Happy Monday's guitarist Kav Sandhu. Next month Kav is releasing the album "Northern Gentleman" as Blitz Vega.  This was a collaboration between himself and the late Andy Rourke--former bass player for the Smiths. Although the record was scheduled to be released in 2022, those plans were cut short due to Andy's declining health.  Last year, following his death of pancreatic cancer at the age of 59, Andy urged Kav to go ahead and release the album.  It's a powerful and poignant story.  The record is not only amazing, it also includes guitar performances from Johnny Marr.  This is the first time that Andy and Johnny had played together since The Smiths broke up 37 years ago! Tributo a New Order, com uma pequena parcela de outras bandas da época de 80's.

New Order é uma banda de Rock Inglesa formada nos anos 80’s, que emergiu das cinzas do Joy Division que era uma banda também de Rock pioneira do post punk(pós punk), e do rock gótico, que após o trágico suicídio do vocalista Ian Curtis, os membros restantes: Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook e Stephen Morris, decidiram continuar fazendo música, onde assim nascia o New Order.

O New Order misturavam o pós punk com a música eletrônica e dance, criando um som único muito influente nos anos 80’s, evoluindo a partir de suas experiências na cena Club de New York se tornando conhecidos, o que foi uma mudança significativa em relação aos tons mais sombrios do Joy Division.

Outra dupla que foi formado por Bernard Sumner vocalista do New Order e Johnny Marr, ex-guitarrista do The Smith, foi o supergrupo Electronic, que foi uma fusão das bandas anteriores dos membros, combinando elementos de dança alternativa e rock do New Order com o jangle pop dos Smiths, fazendo com que o Sumner explorasse mais as suas aspirações da música eletrônica, que não foram totalmente realizada no New Order.

Em 1982, um coletivo de criativos com visão de futuro, desenvolveram um novo conceito revolucionário para uma discoteca em Manchester, FAC 51 HAÇIENDA, ou simplesmente HAÇIENDA, localizado na Inglaterra, que surgiu de um meio cultural particular, formado pela Factory Records que tinha como foco central o Joy Division, foi um afloramento da cena punk que se desenvolvia de clubes transitórios, e sempre foi associado frequentemente ao surgimento da cena rave e da cultura do acid house no Reino Unido.

Os criadores do HAÇIENDA Club, foram o Tony Wilson, que foi cofundador da gravadora Factory Records, junto com o Rod Gretton que era o empresário da banda Joy Division, que mais tarde foi New Order, porém o financiamento veio principalmente da banda New Order e da Factory Records.

A proposta inicialmente do Club, era de um espaço alternativo para shows e eventos culturais, inspirados pela cena Punk e Post Punk(pós punk), oferecendo aos clientes um lugar onde elas pudessem experimentar a música ao vivo, e essa proposta evoluiu rapidamente, onde o Club começou a introduzir Djs tonando-se o epicentro da cena Acid House na Inglaterra, transformando-se em um local de referência para a música eletrônica e também a cultura das Raves.

O Haçienda foi crucial para o desenvolvimento de novos estilos musicais e para a popularização da cultura de clubes que se espalhou globalmente.

Around the mid-eighties The Smiths dominated The Festive Fifty.  It got quite silly with them taking up over a fifth of the total on one occasion.

I was born in the late 60's, but only in the late 70's I got to absorb the disco era. I was a listener, but always with a keen sense. It was where everything began, a passion for eletronic music.

In the 80's, these most intensely lived, and for me one of the best. I absorbed a generation of true musicians, which adds even more knowledge and feeling.

Nowadays, with all knowledge that I have gotten, I look intensely all the songs of the past. I really miss those times and I do not deny. After all, having this feeling is a spiritual universe, where we bring with us in our lives, everything good that we got. It is our story on a journey throughout time, going back, reviving às if it were the first time, remembering, inventing everything again making the "now" become Alive as in the pas, becoming a source of life.

Music is a cycle that goes back and forth. As I mentioned, I miss those times, but I did not stop in time, I enjoy the pasta and the present. I think I do define myself as an only style. I always say I like music and with the keen sense I have, I listen to the songs and if I believe they sound good to my ears, that's what I will believe. House is the base. However, in my sets there might be a tech house, a techno, or rather any Söns that may please my ears.

Nowadays, I live intensely researching everything from the past until the current days.

Nasci no final de 60's, logo, fui absorver a era DISCO já no final de 70's, era ouvinte, mas sempre com um feeling aguçado. Foi onde tudo começou a paixão pela Música Eletrônica.

Nos anos 80's, esses mais vividos intensamente, e para eu um dos melhores, absorvi uma geração de verdadeiros musicistas, o que veio acrescentar ainda mais o conhecimento e o feeling.

Hoje, com todo conhecimento que absorvi, busco intensamente todas as músicas do passado, sou sim, verdadeiro SAUDOSO, e não me nego ser saudoso, afinal a saudade é um universo espiritual, onde trazemos conosco em nossas vidas tudo de bom que absorvemos, é a nossa história em uma viagem pelo tempo, indo atraz, revivendo como se fosse a primeira vez, lembrando, recordando, podendo inventar tudo novamente, fazendo com que, o agora, torne vivo como no passado, tonando-me fonte de vida.

A música é um ciclo, vai e volta. Como falei acima, sou saudoso, porém, não parei no tempo, curto o passado e o presente. Acho que não me defino por um estilo somente, gosto sempre de falar que gosto de música, e com o feeling aguçado que tenho, ouço as músicas, e se eu acreditar, soar bem aos meus ouvidos, é o que acreditarei. A House é a base, entretanto, em meus sets, pode ter um Tech House um Techno....ou melhor qualquer música que agradar aos meus ouvidos.

Hoje, vivo intensamente pesquisando, desde tudo do passado, até os dias atuais.
