George recorded a few instrumental tracks to a cassette and gave it to Ken so he could come up with some lyrics.
This song is one of the ones he came up with.
So Begins the Crying was also a regular in the live set of Rough Terrain.

Look, this song, 'Triple-Wide Family,' it ain't some shiny, happy tune. This is from the gut. This is for everyone who's ever felt like they're pullin' double shifts just to fall further behind, starin' at a pile of bills with nothin' but lint in their pockets.

It's about that feeling when you look around at your life – the crying babies, the overdue rent, the family members who ain't there or ain't right – and you realize you're living a life you swore you never would. It's that generational weight, that feeling of being the family f***-up, even when you're breakin' your back tryin' to do right.

Musically? We stripped it bare. Think late-night juke joint, one dim light bulb swingin'. It's raw, mostly acoustic – my voice, a gritty guitar, maybe a mournful slide cryin' in the background, a foot stompin' out a heartbeat. It's not about perfect notes; it's about bleedin' onto the track.

This song is for the broken, sung by the broken. It's that moment you look in the mirror and see your mama's tired eyes lookin' back, and you just gotta sing your way through the pain 'cause cryin' don't pay the bills. It's an anthem for everyone fightin' a losing battle but still showin' up, singin' 'hallelujah' through the payday loans. If you've ever felt that, if your people have ever felt that, then this song's gonna hit you where you live.

* What do we stand for as a label?

We support all independent musicians who are doing something we find interesting. Our team members all have formal music education qualifications.

We are against corporate brainwash muzak, their puppet friends in the mass media, and many other corporate activities. We will fight their desecration of music until either it stops or we die. 

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.

We're politically liberal. We cannot support the republicans, maga or gun violence in the usa. We don't see there's any real difference, other than in name, between the christian far right in the USA and the taliban in Afghanistan.

In the uk we are broadly pro LibDem/Green/Labour/SNP. We are VERY anti-tory, bnp, ukip, and any of their friends and associates. We have no trust at all in the uk right wing press monopoly and the bbc. Beware the bbc and its claims of neutrality. It is the propaganda mouthpiece of the tory party. It even charges a propaganda tax called the licence fee. But we like Test Match Special and Radio 6, so does that make us hypocrites...? Hmm.

We support independence for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. We support the individual and the underdog. We are anti-putin and his war, and pro-Ukraine.
