EP Bio:
This is a 2-track EP(with a bonus track included) that explores the world of melodic techno. The EP pays homage to the sounds from Afterlife Records and how they are able to create journey music through dark and melancholic sounds and chord progressions.

The EP starts off with the title track "Storms Brewing" which aims to envisage the turbulent and violent nature of storms through the dark coloured synths and acid lines used throughout the track. 

The second track, "The Calm" describes the calming aftermath of the storm. The repetitive and dark, almost lullaby-sounding arpeggios represent the overcast weather, now less vicious but still reminiscent of the violent thunderous sounds from "Storms Brewing".

The bonus track, "Explore Your Past" is a play on Anyma's recent release "Explore Your Future" that I decided to sneak into this EP. The bass stabs are the main element of the tracks and are directly inspired from Anyma. However, the track takes more influence from the world of trance and psytrance with the gated middle eastern vocals and atmospheric pads.

During lockdown I embarked on a project that I poured lots of love and time into to create some mixes for psychedelic journeys within a therapy context commissioned by the amazing Dr. Lani Roy.

These mixes have been used with much success in therapy but we believe it’s time to launch them out into the world now!!

I’ll be releasing one a month on my SoundCloud over the next few months….

“Who, me? Who am I? … who… who are you? “ he said drawn out and unsure what tone to express in a situation he couldn’t assess. “Very funny, said the woman sarcastically. He grew more impatient.“Can you tell me who I am?” He said, this time a little louder and pronounced.  She raised one eyebrow while slowly tilting her head down. She remarked, “Do any of us know who we are? Sheesh you’re feisty today. I’ve never even heard you go past a… a four maybe.” He is pacing slowly with his hands on his head, covering his eyes like a visor, and sporting brand new, barely noticeable self soothing movements. She raises her other eyebrow, this time tilting her head forward and begins to speak again. “Sir you have som…”  she is loudly interrupted by the end of his rant as he raised his voice over hers asking five times; a little louder each time, “Who aM iiii?!” A few long seconds of silence and she said politely but sternly, “You are a funny man, a little mean today… we all get stressed out ya know… but you’ve got somewhere to be sir .” She then exclaimed,  “OH! Take this with you! Don’t open it, it’s to pay for your ride. It’ll be here very soon. And then she started walking away. He tried to get her attention for more answers when he heard a strange,loud  popping noise behind him. His natural instincts seemed to kick in as he turned around searching for whatever made that racket. Everything fell silent. The real kind of silence that seems to whoosh and swoosh with your heart beat and blood flow, creating an entire performance within you, listening to your insides in the only nosebleed seats anyone bought for that game. He turned around expecting her to still be there, but she was nowhere in sight. Around him looked like an area with a lot of nothing and even more trees. If he wanted answers, this ride he was waiting on was his best bet. He remembered something he used to say. “You never want to lose your best bet.” That was seemingly his cue to wait. He had no clue what was going on, but he did have a new plan at least. Wait there, wait, and wait some more until fate bumped into him first.

He’s a Melbourne-based DJ, however, he had been living the fantasy life long ago in a small island in Thailand where he took shots propelling his multi-genre career to its supreme well over 20 years ago!  Having played a vital part in the evolution of Australia’s festivals and raves, he’s performed on several of these major stages. Mickey has been a key player across many dance cultures: house music, breaks, bass music, electro swing and glitch and ecstatic dance to name a few.
