Made this in my room after i graduated my PhD & moved home for a month. It was one of the most beautiful months of my life with my family at home. I went on walks with my mom & dog Pepper, messed with my bros on family picture day, my gf gave me a Queens grad ring, tested coffee shops with Leah & mom that we never even knew existed (best donut of my life), went to DQ like 7x, hit all the Tim Horton drive-throughs in town to rip packs together, had pizza dance party after helping my bro with renos. at his new house, pranked my parents with a fish head so my mom made fish head stew, coerced my dad into letting us drive the truck and made a side quest to our old childhood home on Pr., having a nostalgic mini Easter egg hunt and getting my bro a cake for graduating, and my other bro got me new mics so i vlogged the whole time non-stop and annoyed everyone. Back to the point, me and my little bro stayed up every night until 2-3am and watched YT drive-through pranks & then stumbled upon the Lil Peep docu. Took 2 nights to finish but we were both inspired & intrigued how his Grandfather said that his parents splitting up may have triggered his depression, which fueled the start-up of his music. I was so intrigued how he was a free soul, the way he dressed, the music he made, the authenticity. Everyone knew from hearing one song that he was a hit. But i feel like you have to sacrifice the good in your life to write music like that. And words are powerful. So... since I am moving to London, I felt sad & anxious about that and channelled it into this song. I sampled Adrienne - Anything. My parents and I shared a good moment when they dropped me off here so I feel good about it all. But, I packed up my prod. equipment, so I finished this on corded Apple headphones. Shout out dynamic EQ.
