4 Marbles

Last week-end we had a family celebration, before everyone separates, we did a lantern ceremony to honor our departed loved ones.... The sky was blue, the night was falling and the scene was touching...

This piece of music is originally part of a video I did of the event but I'm happy to share it with you all.

now not sure if it's completely an outtake or not, but it just came out of a session I named "Positive Creatures" in order to set the mood to something "not too dark" lol. well, it didn't come as lightweight as I hoped but.. but I still like it.
recorded and overdubbed in Ableton. everything that's playing is MI's Marbles and Rings. Reverbs are Live's own and a little bit of Replika. oh, there's this one repeating bass coming out of Teenage Engineering PO-32.

220609 Positive Creatures2

I repurchased the four missing Mutable modules that I had in years past - to complete my set of my seven favourite Mutable modules: Marbles, Stages, Plaits, Tides, Rings, Blades and Beads. Today I received the last two of them, Marbles and Rings. This track, in light of Èmilie's announcement that she will no longer me making any new Mutable Instruments modules, is a bit of a celebration of her amazing talent, and incredible contribution to synthesis, the modular community and the art of creating beautiful sound.
Other than the beats and some tape echo from Magneto; this track is entirely performed entirely with my seven Mutable Instruments modules.
All voices sequenced on Marbles.

I'm a lab-rat. gear-head. Composer of sonic explorations. Seeker of tone and frequency. Patcher of modules. Twiddler of knobs. Bender of strings. Programmer of sequences. Lover of all things that oscillate, resonate and reverberate.

My main instrument is a Eurorack Modular synthesizer comprised of approximately 70 modules. My favourites include modules from Frap Tools Instruō, Intellijel, Rossum electro-music and Industrial Music Electronics. I use a 16-channel Line converter from nw2s to get modular signals into my DAW.
My main polysynth is a Sequential Prophet Rev2.
Production tools are Ableton Live and Push 2, with Universal Audio and Focusrite AD converters;  Eventide, and Lexicon hardware; and plugins from Valhalla DSP, Plugin Alliance, Eventide, Softube, Arturia and Roland.
I also compose with electric guitars and basses, Toontrack Superior Drummer, and various Brazilian samba percussion.
