Wrocław, that was awesome! Such an incredible time making my Polish debut, joining none other than Nox Vahn on his 'When I'm With You' world tour back in June. Rick Carbonell’s love of electronic dance music was born in the skating rinks of Tampa, Florida, where electro-funk, freestyle and Miami bass music reigned supreme during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. He taught himself how to mix music at the age of 13 using a cassette deck and a belt-driven turntable he borrowed from his parents’ home stereo system. Later, his affection for the genre was solidified even further during the infamous Florida breakbeats scene that dominated the local airwaves and clubs in the 1990’s, and he would regularly spin this signature style of breakbeats at various local venues and events. Now, after an over 20-year hiatus, Rick Carbonell has taken his passion to the next level, producing progressive-style original tracks on labels such as Stripped Recordings, Capital Heaven, 20K Freaks, Morphosis Records, Phreak Recordings and Vantablak.

I am a UK born DJ, producer and general music junkie now based in Sydney. Growing up around the thriving underground music scene in Manchester it was easy for him to fall in love with underground music and soon journey from the dance floor to behind the decks.

Over the last 10 years I've jumped between playing the club circuit in Manchester, UK including Iconic club Sankeys and many more. Running my Hydration Longboat party series. Doing a stint on to the magical music isle of Ibiza further cemented my love for music.

I've hosted DJ shows for Easy Street, Pure FM radio (UK,  Just Vibes radio and Orbital radio and now play every second Friday on Bloop London Radio. My style is a mixture of electronica, progressive and melodic house, and deep house including jazz and funk. 

Now based in Sydney where I play as one half of the Dark Dreams Collective, co-founded with Forked Tongue. Launching our Black & White Techno nights and Conscious Rebellion Progressive house raves all over Sydney. Also working with the Sutra, Deep Repeat, Mind Sub & Renegade crews playing at the likes of Club 77, Burdekin, Goodbar and more.

Vic Light is a Trance DJ with over 20 years of experience.

During this time, Vic has firmly established himself on the underground scene, having held residencies for Slinky and Remedy and having played for every major club night in the UK, including Godskitchen, Passion, GoodGreef,  Trance Sanctuary, Trancecoda, Xstatic and The Gallery, as well as holding several residencies in Ibiza and most recently playing the main room opening set of the Cream Ibiza closing party @ Amnesia.

During this time, Vic has played directly before or after some of the biggest names in Trance, such as Paul van Dyk, John O'Callaghan, Simon Patterson, Bryan Kearney, John Askew, ReOrder, Menno De Jong, Sean Tyas, Dan Stone, Manuel Le Saux, Jordan Suckley, Ben Nicky, Solis & Truby, Genix, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Matt Hardwick, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Mat Zo and many more, as well as supporting the likes of Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell and Sander van Doorn, amongst others.

Vic is an exceptionally diverse and passionate DJ. His skill of being able to cohesively progress a set through multiple genres, puts him amongst some of the best in the world. Having a love for not just the deeper Progressive Trance, but also the more uplifting 140bpm sound and everything in-between, allows him to control any dance floor at any time of the day or night, whether it be a small intimate gig or an enormous outdoor festival.
