ARTIST DUO MICHA VOLDERS & MIET WARLOP PRESENT A NEW ALBUM ‘ICCHĀ’ 

Balancing tribal electronica, angular wave and powerful chants, ‘ICCHĀ’ is a frenzied sonic fusion between Belgium and Bangladesh 
The Belgian duo, comprising musician Micha Volders and visual artist Miet Warlop, presents their debut album titled ‘ICCHĀ’. Stemming from their monumental performance ‘Chant For Hope’ (2023), which showcased native artists from Dhaka, ‘ICCHĀ’ revolves around the musical cadence and rich heritage of the Bengali language.
A powerful and uncompromising journey, ‘ICCHĀ’ offers a captivating soundworld with angular drumming and vocals that oscillate in mantra-like repetitions. The album features the performances of slam poet Shayer Noor, the energetic Muhammad Shanto, and the Chittagonian-spirited Tanny Das Gupta as protagonists, navigating the vibrant frenzy of Dhaka. Their contributions were carefully curated into a cohesive album that retains the inherent structure and heart of the original performance, ‘Chant For Hope.’”
The pulsating debut single, ‘OK GO - ঠিক আছে যাও’, highlights the mantra-like shouts of artist Shayer Noor. The contrast between the deep, rumbling Bodhran drum and the airy backing vocals, repeating the same word, lends it a monumental and standout character."
 "Set for release on May 24th, the album will be available on picture disc vinyl LP and across all digital platforms via the Belgian label Mutropia."

The duo announces a series of live performances featuring the music of the album enhanced by live visuals. Dates include the showcase festival Ghost (Ghent), more TBA.

Treadmill Troupe have been around for a few years. First as a rejected buff for an unpublished minitourney sequel, then as a submission to an idea royale, then as a boss in EOTP, and now this. I think I've really started to take a liking to alt. rock. The sandbox aspect is something I'm gonna have to look into more.

I create for the pure joy of it and I love to include my Wife and Daughter in the music to capture a beautiful moment; a personal time capsule. Music is an expressive outlet for me and I write from the heart.

Close to my heart is raising awareness of the chronically painful genetic connective tissue disorder HEDS (Hyper-Mobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) to encourage recognition and a deeper understanding of the condition; that no two people with HEDS are identical and live with different symptoms, types and experiences.
