Celebrating 20 superb years since his debut, UK electro producer Emile Facey aka Plant43 is back with his fifth album on Plant43 Recordings. Feeding the Machines draws on his reputation for intricate, emotive electro, which has previously come across labels like CPU, Semantica and Trust, all while blending machine precision with human imperfection. This ten-track set explores electro, techno and drum & bass through layered synth recordings that capture real-time physical movement and create a rich, organic texture. 'Anthropomorphic Algorithms' is not only the best title but also our favourite with its lithe rhythms and plunging bass - that deep sense of space travel and melodic whimsy always makes a mark. Artist Bio:

Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994, when his first EP was released on Definitive Records - and has been known for his wide stylistic range ever since. 
His 10th solo album “Singing About It” was released on October 11, 2024 with, yes, lots of vocals and more song-oriented tracks than on any of his other longplayers. Call it Indie Pop, Art Pop, or, like Angie Portmann, radio maker at “Late Nite Sounds” proposed: Cosmic art pop. And, of course, still with house and techno genes in all tracks.
And the next album is already on the way: Mathias' project FANATICO X, which he runs together with Jorge Socarrás (Indoor Life / Compost Rec., Patrick Cowley und Jorge Socarrás / macro rec.), will release its third LP in the fall 2025. The first single, “Still Searching”, was released in early May. Great feedback came from Justin Strauss: „Listening to it I’m imagining the record that Bryan Ferry and Patrick Cowley never made, but sounding totally modern and now.“ And Dark Entries label maker Josh Cheon wrote: „One of my absolute favorite Indoor Life songs gets a modern reworking that is perfect for any fog-filled dance floor, while Mathias Schaffhäuser's remix ups the tempo and NRG for dark room pursuits.”

2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of his label WARE Records. To celebrate this incredible number, the EP “25 Years Of Ware” was released in June with 4 new tracks by the label maker. In November 23, another special EP was released with a vocal version of one of Mathias' classics, the song “6 Uhr morgens”, which first appeared on his debut album “Lido Hotel” on Force Tracks Records in 1999. The new version comes in several mixes and with an atmospheric remix by Pawas. The EP is Schaffhäuser's second release on the Canadian label Suleiman Records.

His 9th solo album “Biotopical” was released in 2022. It combines tracks released on Biotop Records between 2015 and 2020 as an “endless mix”, similar to what Schaffhäuser did on his third album “From 4 to 6 a.m.” on Blaou Sounds in 2002 - again with subtle creative changes, transitions and overdubs. Two EPs were also released in 2022, one by Mathias' project FANATICO X called “On The Brink, Vol. 2” with remixes by Indoor Man, Chocolate Garage Prod., Ryan Crosson and Made From Shadows. And the solo EP “Magnificent Madness”, his debut on Suleiman Records.

Back in the days:
Other releases from Mathias have appeared on Compost, Tic Tac Toe Rec., Kompakt, Force Inc., Mo's Ferry Productions, Multicolor, BluFin Records, Adjunct, WIR Recordings, Blaou Sounds and many others. In 1997 he started WARE, releasing 102 EPs until today. His album „Lido Hotel“ with the well known track „Nice To Meet You“, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough in the techno scene. 2001 saw his massive club hit „Hey Little Girl“, and in 2002 „Musik ohne Bass“ permeated the clubs. In April 2005 he released his album „Coincidance“, its title track successfully remixed by Trentemøller. On his album „Unequal Equality“ (2009) Mathias collaborated with Lucy, Alex Smoke, Xhin, And.id, Benjamin Brunn and many others. He also produced remixes for Steve Bug (LoverBoy), Luomo (Tessio), Pan-Pot, German Kraut Rock legend Faust, [A]pendics.Shuffle, Goldfrapp, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg – to name a few.

As DJ, Schaffhäuser’s motto at the turntables is: “Purism sucks!” The quality of the music is what’s important, not sheer functionality and trendiness. His sets are usually very varied and range from his very own composition style to underground house to fancy niche techno. My musical journey has taken me through '80s synth-pop, Chicago house, acid house, electro, and techno—though I steer clear of the clippy-cloppy 'mnml' and business techno.

I dedicated years to being the quintessential 'Bedroom DJ,' complemented by frequent visits to the techno haven The Orbit and other iconic Leeds nights such as Superconductor, Darkside, and Detatched. My experience culminated in a DJ spot at Detatched in 2009, where I spun a primarily electro/italo-house set in the bar.

Following that, I secured a monthly residency playing techno in the main room while also showcasing electro, house, and electro-pop in the bar. Events like Future-Past and the brief stint with Secret Maze allowed me to support some of the finest names in the techno scene. I had the honor of warming up for artists like Claude Young, James Ruskin, Marcel Fengler, Shed, Peter van Hoesen, Joey Beltram, Octave One, Truss/MPIA3, Detroit Techno Militia, Forward Strategy Group, 65d Mavericks, Subjected, and Xhin, among others. Additionally, I've shared stages with a slew of other notable DJs and artists such as Hardfloor, CJ Bolland, Woody McBride, Alan Oldham, Rolando, Derrick May, DJ Bone, Reeko, Exium, Sandwell District, Grovskopa, Ancient Methods, Inigo Kennedy, Bas Mooy, Damon Wild, Takaaki Itoh, Go Hiyama, and Neil Landstrumm.
