December the 22nd meet a collaboration of talented artists @luccas-deodato and @proxxymusic from Brazil to deliver their release 'Echoes' to Almar label.
The composition "Echoes" aims to transition from one emotion to another, more "dark" and more "joyful", giving it weight and dynamics. Created in collaboration, the track seeks to bring a mixture of emotions, exploring reflection, emotion and ecstasy. The strong and expressive tones that change throughout the track create a cohesive narrative.
"Hallucinate" is a track that features distinctive and sentimental elements designed to express all the emotion and effort put into the track. Featuring a more "dense" and awe-inspiring atmospheric drop, it unfolds with expressive and vibrant melodies, combining the tastes of both producers.

The Journey (melodic techno pt. 1)

After losing the master of this mix 20 years ago I found a CD of it in a box and ripped it.  Not the cleanest or highest quality of mixes but it  definitely  captures some of the early morning stuff I was playing at clubs like the edge, club W and buzz around that time.  Use to love that throwback 90s feel.  This was actually made two years before “essential bass” was founded so the name must have been foreshadowing on what was to come.

PROXXY & LANTERN


In the summer of 2004 the already veteran of DC, DJ Proxxy played his first set with the upcoming local favorite DJ Lantern. With over 10 years combined experience (now 20) under their belts they then formed Proxx – A – Lantern, a tag team duo which played anything and everything under the sun. Starting off playing multe – genre sets of hard house, breaks and drum and bass, they quickly gained respect from the local scene. By the late summer of 2005 they had managed to play almost every major local / big event in the DC Washington metropolitan area. By winter 2005 they had landed a gig in London UK at Herbal nightclub alongside heavy hitters, Deekline, Napt, The Rogue Element, Tom Real and Dj Mutiny. That was only the beginning. The following years had them traveling all over the US touring in various cities with various headliners. Their track record of who’ve they opened for or played alongside is amazing. Starting in 2006 they became residents at ULTRA music fest in Miami Florida and Starscape Music Festival in Baltimore Maryland. Also in the winter of 2006 they returned to London to play 2 more shows, one at the late END nightclub and one at Medicine Bar in London. Running their Essential Breaks parties in DC and holding other residencies at various parties, they are a staple in local favorites in the DC area. They have played in such cities as New York NY, Chicago IL, St Louis MO, Seattle WA, Nashville TN, Pittsburgh PA, Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, Richmond VA, Charlotte NC, Dallas TX, Fort Lauderdale FL, Miami FL, London England and many more to come. 
 
Proxxy and Lantern currently push the nu skool funk sound of breaks and the nasty electro fidget sound of house with a dash of dnb and everything in between. 2 masters of their craft, they continue to push forward with countless dj gigs in the local area’s and beyond
