Recorded April 19th 2024 at Smien / Norway. The mix was at a live event in an old warehouse and is a throwback to old school 1990’s New York Underground Electronic Warehouse music that meets the sound of 2024.  Including music by Rabbit in The Moon, Hardkiss, Hawke, Marsh, Christian Smith, Bedrock, Josh Wink, Joey Beltram, Elzace and dirtybird. 

4 decks were used constantly and this was one of the most complicated mixes I have ever peformed live. There was so much that could go wrong so quickly that it was a big risk to even attempt it at live event.  It’s mixed for the sound of a warehouse so some tricks do not transfer over to a recording… but it is well worth sharing.  Most people will not understand how much time went into making this actually work! and thats OK 😀

That last Sublime Saturday was the right kind of unexpected. First-time guest Worth Planer wowed the crowd, a lot of whom happened to be his posse. He had us up and dancing with his rare, soulful sound. Best way for us to describe his sound is that he's a youthful man with an ancient Deep House soul. His style almost defies description. His selection and care in transition are uncommon and genuine expression. Thomas Fitzgerald started it all dark to set Worth up for the deep spike we knew he would give take advantage of for the win.

Welcome to my SoundCloud page, how nice of you to stop in! 

I was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area and feel lucky to be residing in SF in an especially lush and fertile environment for electronic music culture at this moment. Lately I've been mixing deep house, tech house, minimal..... but as always, tracks are whatever I find atmospheric, well produced, and/or have a certain vibe/groove.  When I hear a track for the first time, my jaw hits the floor and I yell "WTF is THIS?!?" ...that's the track I want to play, all of the time! :-D

In 2003 I started playing vinyl with the intention of mixing and DJing.   I switched to CDJs in 2010 -  vowing never to travel to the desert with records again - which was becoming a yearly phenomenon.              
As much as I was loathe to abandon the vinyl format, the realization that vinyl is not environmentally sustainable, that I would be able to collect more music, and support more artists by moving to digital solidified my conviction.  

I always ID tracks on my mixes I post to the best of my ability, and take care to keep notes during any session - whether it's in the bedroom or playing out live - for the purpose of crediting artists and passing on the enjoyment of great music to the listener.  I hope you enjoy some of the music that moves me.   And, please, please support the artists we love by purchasing their tracks!  :)

You will find several tracks repeated in the mixes I post, which is unorthodox. I broadcast a live DJ set most Tuesday mornings ( Brunch With Pwny on www.mixlr.com/pwny ) and gig actively. Known for his unparalleled collection of rare records and signature blends of UK progressive house, deep trance, and Florida-style funky breakbeats, he’s a living historian of underground dance music.

His journey began with humble college parties powered by two CD players, a tape deck, and a two-channel mixer—but the true turning point came in 1995 when he fell in love with vinyl. From there, the sound of crackling grooves and booming basslines became his religion.

    •    Hollywood Bound: In 1998, he moved to Los Angeles and began managing the iconic DMC Records on Melrose Ave. There, surrounded by West Coast legends, he upped his game and refined his technical mastery.
    •    Residencies: Held down the decks at Florentine Gardens and Club Lingerie in Hollywood while rocking underground warehouse parties and pop-up events across L.A.
    •    Style Evolution: While rooted in breakbeat, Cameron Clark evolved his sound to include hypnotic UK progressive house and cinematic deep trance—always staying ahead of the curve.

Mike Devious is a DJ & Producer who has been in the game for three decades and counting. His unique style and versatility have landed him on stage with some of the best in the business and he continues to evolve as an artist, delivering an audio experience that leaves a lasting mark everywhere it is heard. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Mike's sound is unapologetically raw and rooted in underground culture. Blending elements of Techno, House, Electro Breaks, and raw basslines, his sound is gritty, hypnotic, and impossible to ignore. With an ever growing catalog of original music and a relentless drive, Mike Devious is carving out his place as a creative force in the Electronic Dance Music World.

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.
