1.	Watu milioni moja sasa wamefungasha virago na kuukimbia mji wa Rafah kusini mwa Gaza, ka mujibu wa Shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la Msaada kwa wakimbizi wa Kipalestina UNRWA, huku kukiwa na ripoti mpya za mashambulizi ya usiku kuamkia leo katika maeneo ya kusini, kati na kaskazini yanayofanywa na vikosi vya Israel. 
2.	Nchini Rwanda, hivi karibuni Wizara ya Afya ya nchi hiyo, kupitia Shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la Kuhudumia Watoto (UNICEF), imeanza usambazaji wa Vidonge vyenye virutubisho vingi vya lishe (MMS) ili kuboresha lishe ya wajawazito kama njia ya kupunguza kasi ya udumavu kwa watoto.
3.	Katika makala Umoja wa Mataifa uliitambua rasmi umuhimu wa baiskeli tarehe 13 mwezi Machi mwaka 2022 kwa kupitisha azimio la kutambua tarehe 3 mwezi Juni kila mwaka kuwa siku ya baiskeli duniani. Umuhimu wake kama chombo cha usafiri chenye gharama nafuu, hakichafui mazingira na zaidi ya yote afya kwa watumiaji kwani ni mazoezi.
4.	Na mashinani tutaelekea Mwanza nchini Tanzania kusikia ujumbe kuhusu mikakati ya kudhibiti uhalifu katika mipaka Afrika mashariki.

Gaza, el territorio más densamente poblado del planeta, descrito como “la cárcel a cielo abierto más grande del mundo”, se ha convertido en un caldero infernal de sufrimiento humano. Los palestinos que viven en la Franja de Gaza están entrando en el noveno mes de una embestida militar sin precedentes que ha causado la muerte de más de 36.500 personas, aunque se estima que esa cifra es en realidad mucho mayor. Entre las víctimas mortales hay al menos 15.000 niños y niñas. Israel, cuyo arsenal de armas estadounidenses recibe una constante reposición, está desafiando a la comunidad internacional y a la Corte Internacional de Justicia: no solo no ha detenido la invasión terrestre de Rafah, sino que, por el contrario, ha intensificado los ataques. La masacre de civiles que muchos anticiparon que iba a ocurrir tras la invasión de Rafah está sucediendo ahora mismo —día y noche; por tierra, aire y mar— y está siendo transmitida al resto del mundo a través de las redes sociales por los propios residentes, cuando hay acceso a Internet, o a través de reportajes de los periodistas que aún quedan en Gaza con posibilidades de transmitir. Israel ha impedido el ingreso de periodistas internacionales al enclave ocupado.

Los 2,3 millones de palestinos que están siendo sometidos a lo que la Corte Internacional de Justicia considera como posibles actos de genocidio tienen una historia que contar. Esta semana, Helmi Hirez, un admirable joven de 19 años, compartió las desesperantes experiencias que le ha tocado vivir. Helmi conversó con Democracy Now! desde el centro de la Franja de Gaza, en Deir Al Balah, en medio del caos que se vive allí:

“Soy Helmi Hirez y tengo 19 años. […] Mi familia y yo salimos de la ciudad de Gaza el 11 de noviembre. Después de que el hospital Al-Shifa y todo el barrio de Rimal fueran ocupados, nos trasladamos a la ciudad de Rafah. Caminamos a pie, mientras soldados israelíes nos apuntaban con sus armas. En algunas partes del recorrido […] tuvimos que saltar sobre cadáveres; cuerpos que fueron dejados allí de manera deliberada para causar el impacto mental tan espantoso que sentimos. Una semana después de nuestra partida —exactamente el 18 de noviembre—, nuestra casa recibió el impacto de dos cohetes y 14 queridos miembros de nuestra familia perdieron la vida allí. Ese día Israel mató a más de 1.000 palestinos”.

Mientras Helmi hablaba desde una calle atestada de gente, no lejos del hospital de Al Aqsa —que actualmente está casi inoperativo—, unas personas retiraron de un vehículo un cadáver envuelto en mortaja y lo trasladaron en otro vehículo hacia algún otro lugar. Detrás de Helmi había un constante ir y venir de personas, muchas de ellas llevando contenedores vacíos en una incansable búsqueda de agua y comida.

Anti-Semitism versus anti-Zionism: beyond parsing

Prime Minister Netanyahu this week publicly called on the Biden Administration to remove the bottleneck of arms deliveries so that Israel could finish off the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah. The United States denied the holdup. However, a new report shows that the U.S. did in fact put a hold on the fast-tracking of arms to Israel. On this week's Israel Uncensored, Josh Hasten says that if the U.S. wants the war to end, slowing weapons deliveries will only prolong the military conflict. The only way to move forward is via a total Israeli victory over Hamas.
