SELF-SABOTAGE (prod. IOF)

The first verse is structured around a conversation I had with a friend. As a songwriter, I imagined what her words might mean on a meta level and brought in a broader picture of the world in the subsequent verses. Truly, the song grows out of her lively energy, which was the seed of the track. This ballad takes on a life of its own and a larger meaning. I'm not sure why that happened. I added some effects to the single note melodies between verses to thicken the sound. I also put delay and compression on the entire track. Naturally, a country song must mention heaven and a 4x4 truck, which I succeeded in doing in the chorus.
