In the near future, after a storm strikes New York City, the strangenesses begin. A gardener finds that his feet no longer touch the ground. A graphic novelist awakens to a mysterious entity that resembles his own creation. A baby identifies corruption marking the guilty with blemishes and boils.

Unbeknownst to them, they are all descended from the creatures known as the jinn, who live in a world separated from ours by a veil. Centuries ago, Dunia, a princess of the jinn, fell in love with a mortal man. Att läsa ”Ljusets fiender” är en samvetsfråga. Det är en modern ”J’accuse”. En lista med åtalspunkter med människor i svensk offentlighet som i ett hälsosamt system aldrig hade nått så mäktiga positioner, och aldrig hade fått så mycket pengar och stöd från systemet. 
Efter att ha läst boken är jag inte lika upprörd över de människor på vänsterkanten jag vet har odemokratiska, antisemitiska och genomvidriga åsikter som jag är över det system som inte bara låter dem verka utan även stöttar dem ekonomiskt och med positiv spinn i media.
