This song was created during a time when the essence and heart of music were shifting. As a music lover and writer, I found myself dissatisfied with what was being shared with the masses. This pushed me to explore deeper into independent and underground music. Originally written as a spoken word piece, it has evolved over time, being sung in various styles while collaborating with my husband, Brotha Trav, and live musicians. Now, this piece has transformed into a fully composed song that will be featured on my upcoming album, KiKi Charisse Radio.

Not only was music changing, but so was my relationship. Once on and off, the chemistry was undeniable, yet the timing was never quite right. Navigating the emotions of still being tied to someone, even when it wasn’t the best situation, felt like the most authentic position to write from. Those complex feelings became a driving force in shaping this song, giving it depth and personal meaning.
