In the last few weeks, I felt how deeply the shifting back and forth of clear and cloudy skies affected my mood. This mix tries to capture those mood swings. It doesn't fit neatly in one genre but hovers around 125 bpm.

clouds come and go | minimal, acid & melodic mix

Traumprinz, for the uninitiated - is a cult electronic music producer who is completely anonymous. He goes under many aliases such as Prince of Denmark and DJ Metatron, but no one really knows who he is. I’ve always loved this work from him, because the breakbeat at 4:25 just makes every bone in my body surrender.

Adding these vocals by Fred felt reminiscent of the last two years, as his albums have been soundtracking my audio nomad life.

The empty breakbeat cries for some chords, until Oliver Henry’s stunner “Closer” just creeps in to give you a warm hug around your ears. At 7:30, you hear a running race I had in 2023 against my high school rival, which makes this particular mashup incredibly special to me.

in a time where the clubculture has enormous pressure because of economical reasons, where some djs spend more time in photo than in music studios and selling something seems to be more important than creating something, traumprinz is a good example for someone who goes exactly the other way. an artist who released countless hours of music, in various genres and names, without playing any gigs or being present on socials. a friend told me, he saw traumprinz playing (his only gig i heard of) at berghain once, where he stopped his set after one hour and didn’t continue - nobody knows the reason but rumors say he is to shy to step in front of people. isn’t that cool in a way, to cancel your gig at the club where every dj wants to play and then never doing it again?
 
one thing is for sure, it’s refreshing to get in touch with an artist like him, who gives space for your own interpretation and let you start thinking about things from another perspective. he seems to be a myth and so is his music: mysterious, introverted, euphoric, beautiful - have fun with the mix and enjoy to discover his universe!

Jamie B is a record collector & DJ from the UK residing in Sydney, Australia. He's been collecting vinyl for over 3 decades with an eclectic range of influences including Punk, Dub, Hip Hop, Electro, Disco, House, Techno & everything in between.

In the early 90’s, Jamie fell in love with the sounds of Electro, UK Bleep & Bass & Detroit Techno. Inspired by DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Andrew Weatherall, Laurent Garnier & Jeff Mills, he began crafting his skills & playing gigs around London. Today his style still favours House, Techno & Electro sounds, with a strong focus on mixing things up & dropping curveballs to keep the dancefloor on its toes.
 
Alongside fellow crate digger, Raffi Irie Lovechild, Jamie hosts SOKA LOKA MOKI, a monthly night of eclectic sounds where you’ll hear the likes of Chaka Khan, Kraftwerk & Prince, rubbing shoulders with A Tribe Called Quest, Larry Heard & Moodymann.

Jamie is also a member of GOT MUSIC, a convergence of DJs & artists hosting regular events in Sydney exploring the deeper pockets of electronic music.

All DJ mixes are recorded live using 2X Technics 1200's & a Xone: 23 mixer.
