Next, NYT threatens Perplexity. In a case that echoes its litigation with OpenAI, The New York Times has issued a cease and desist letter to the AI search engine startup Perplexity. The Times claims that Perplexity is using their content without permission, stating they have been “unjustly enriched.” Perplexity's CEO argues that facts cannot be copyrighted and suggests a willingness to partner with the Times on revenue-sharing agreements. This ongoing legal discourse reflects the growing tensions over content ownership and AI training practices.

In other news, Google launches AI shopping. Google is rolling out a new AI-powered feature that personalizes shopping experiences for users. The new 'for you' feed will recommend products based on your previous searches and YouTube activity. (30 March 2023: I was born with 2 genetic and major and very rare and incurable eye disorders, which had caused me to be about 60% blind, and I just went through an eye emergency and another surgery on 7 March to replace a nearly 20 year old artificial lens that totally dislodged on 4 March and made me fully legally blind. My 2 eye disorders had deteriorated my inner vision tissue at the place where the original artificial lens was hooked in, and caused the hooks and lens to dislodge out of place. However, while in recovery, I am currently using a magnifying glass coupled with a magnified reader’s lens in sunglasses to write this information. With a long recovery ahead, I cannot yet see as well as before the dislodging and surgery, not even with these sunglasses and magnifying glass. On 21 March, the inner pressure of my eye went dangerously high, and I must use special eye drops to help bring that pressure down. I also still have a suture in my cornea, which will hopefully be removed in this latter April, and I still have a lot of inflammation from the surgery, but I and my surgeons are hopeful with time and good doctoring that healing and probably further prescription glasses are what it will take for me to see well-enough again.) 

(6 August 2023: Since the suture was removed from my eye’s cornea in April, and the incision has healed, and post-surgery inflammation has gone significantly down, my natural vision is still in the legally-blind category, and will be for the rest of my mortal life. However, a little over 2 weeks ago, I received my new prescription sunglasses, and I can again clearly see near, far, and in-between; except that even with my prescription glasses, I still need a magnifying glass to see the much smaller print on a variety of labels. So then, all this does not mean that I will ever again in this life be able to see better than 40%, and my vision could still become worse, because again, my genetic eye disorders are incurable. However, I continue to do my best to practice my instruments and singing with or without sight. I now and will forever say that even or especially with these genetic eye problems, I have every reason to be, and am, so grateful to Almighty God for this gift of music!)

I have sung as long as I had learned to make vocal sounds as an infant, and am still singing now at age 70. Being a Crossover-Vocalist means I can sing in different, even many, genres and styles. I sing from Country to Opera, and a whole lot of genres and styles in-between. I can sing very low and I can sing very high, and of course, in-between. I love to sing harmony as well. I sang in school and church choirs and also in a professional choir in Europe, and was chosen out occasionally for some solos; even to sing ‘Rejoice Greatly’ in a Messiah Concert in a beautiful German Cathedral. Then, I studied operatic voice with European and Canadian Opera Star - Jessica Ernst in the Netherlands. I have taught voice in Germany and here across the United States, and my sole vocal purpose and specialty and technique is to help and teach others to maintain their beautiful singing voices for LIFE, because without this technique, as happened to me before I found Jessica, I nearly ruined and lost my singing voice in my young 30s! I'm so grateful to Almighty God for giving me the Blessing of Jessica and Singing in my life!

I started playing the organ ‘by ear’ at age 3, and started composing and arranging at the piano at age 12. I have had about 1.5 years of piano lessons, if even that much, but have mostly played instruments by ear for the majority of my life. 

In my personal travels, my singing voice and some of my compositions have been heard live from Europe to Australia and other Countries in-between. I am so very grateful and feel very Blessed for such amazing experiences!

I own nearly 70 musical instruments of various kinds and various sizes, and try to implement some of them into my recordings, including here in SoundCloud. When it comes to musical instruments, I am like a kid in a candy store in trying to play them and maybe purchase some of them. I become really excited about each one of them in learning to play them!

I have directed music in my church and sometimes in elementary schools since age 13. I love to accompany other soloists and choirs with piano, organ, and my harps. I love to add my harp music to occasional live orchestras, as well.

Yes, I'm so VERY grateful to Almighty God for the Blessing of Music in my life!
