Awlies comes through on a sublime and magical breakbeat tip, while Helter lands some twisted yet delightful breaks and bass business. Neathway & Alter hit the halfway mark of the compilation: a tidy piece of jungle action reminiscent of the genres 90s heyday. Up next is Withheld producing a soulful yet energetic drum and bass stunner, followed by Charleeps with a transcendent and acidy yet melancholic electro-breakbeat number. Aevasyon delivers some gorgeous, retro-tinged breakbeat vibes and Talihatta brings the energy down with some clever and subtle downtempo. Withheld is a British DJ and producer based in Berlin. Having grown up on the outskirts of London, he first began DJing in the 1990s and was heavily influenced by the early hardcore, jungle and drum & bass scene. Moving to Liverpool in the mid 00s, he would develop a passion for house and techno, where the club scene in north west England had a profound impact on his tastes and preferences.

After relocating to Berlin in 2018 and becoming ever more involved in the electronic music scene there, creatively he no longer conforms to any specific genre, and describes his musical output - whether as a DJ or producer - as 'miscellaneous electronic jams'. To date, Withheld has released on various labels including Blaq Records, Pantamuzik, Sengiley Recordings, Ly Abby Records, Fri By Frikardo, House Trip Recordings, Lisztomania Records, and many more.

For today's premiere we turn to 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲, a label that is steadily charting its own course in the depths of house and techno. Their latest release, 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳, comes from 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱, a producer whose sound embraces atmospheric club music with an emphasis on mood and movement.

Withheld employs an emotive palette of warm pads, muted percussion, and soft-focus textures that stretch out into space while retaining a sense of pulse. It's a patient approach to dance music, one that invites listeners in rather than overwhelming them.
