HeatWave is a hip-hop artist from Vancouver, BC. He has shared the stage with T.I., Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Future, Rick Ross, and many more artists. He has released numerous bodies of work, including his debut album, "Hi Heat," and the unforgettable mixtape, "The Masses, Vol. 1." Some say the gift of music is the highest form of self-expression. It conveys the passions of the soul and the most intimate parts of the heart. This need to express these feelings is what sparked Jash to embark on her first-ever album, Jiya.

Originally from India and now settled in the states, Jash is a loving wife and nurturing mother who has always identified closely with music and singing. Listening to the music of legends like Asha Bhosle and Joan Baez, she felt that singing captured her inner core and became a motivating and uplifting factor for her.

Moved by words of the late Steve Jobs, Jash decided that there was no time like the present to step out and make music a tangible reality. Joining with close friend and legendary sitar player Hidayat Hussein Khan, they created her first forray into recorded music with her album entitled Jiya. While most of the songs are covers of classic Bollywood tunes, Hidayat and New Jersey-based music company BlockStars Production Studios helped Jash craft an updated take on songs like “Lambi Judai”, “Aao Na Gale Lagao Na”, “Jiya Lage Na”, and the time honored classic “Aaj Jaane Ki Zid.”

Not one to limit herself, Jash was intent on making sure this was not a typical Indian album by including jazz, hip-hop, rock, dance, and more making Jiya palpable for all types of listeners. “Music without borders is what I want to explore,” she says. “I am excited about the fusion of Indian music with other genres and musical styles.”

If the concept of “jiya” means to come from one’s soul or the most loving part of the heart, then Jash has certainly accomplished that with Jiya. Each song is filled with her excitement for life, love, and music. Her hope is to spread those feelings to all who will listen. For Jash, this is just the beginning!
