Fresh from a non-stop summer touring the UK’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, Beatherder and more,  Madame Electrifie is back with her 5th release of the year. Taking things darker with some driving breakbeat laced with UK Garage flavours, Tension is a rolling peak time raver perfect for when fields turn into warehouses in the UK rave scene. 

Earlier this year her remix of Sam Redmore’s ‘Music Is’ was instantly picked up by BBC 6 Music’s Jam Supernova and was followed hot on its heels by Our love, a summer anthem which was championed by BBC Introducing. Tension makes a nod to the darker side of her influences, and is released in perfect timing ahead of her gig with the Stanton Warriors in October. What's more, the track will be available for free download exclusively from Soundcloud. 

With 20 years behind the decks under her belt, Madame Electrifie has a reputation as a multi-genre party starter who is just as much at home with afternoon funk and global disco excursions as she is with 4 am bassline rave ups. In 2022 she finally got her productions into gear and has released a steady stream of tracks and remixes, cementing her already solid position as a leading light in UK dance music.

Orbital Special with Devil Fish!

Ever since watching Orbital at Glastonbury in 2004 ive wanted to do a show dedicated to one of the UK's best electronic artists. Orbital (Phil and Paul Hartnoll) are one of my favourite artists and are amazing to see live recently celebrating their 30th year they have released several amazing albums with a huge back catalogue including some all time classics.

This show will be featuring music from the past 30 years of Orbital including songs like Chime which started their career in the early 90's as well songs from Orbital 2 or the Brown Album and Snivilisation which included the classic Halycon + on + on. Its quite difficult to narrow this down to just 2 hours but expect to hear the full Orbital range and of course the Dr Who track!

I'm a big fan of music generally, and also making connections with people through music. My collection has grown over the years and is still growing weekly! It contains a bit of everything, mostly influenced by breakbeat and drum and bass although more recently house and tech house. I was and still am a big fan of breaks, especially tracks from the likes of Freeland, Atomic Hooligan, Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts etc but this list is definitely not exhaustive and I will listen to, and play anything within reason. Got to have an open mind! 

Things are a little quieter these days but I've spent many weekends lost in a field/club/house party somewhere!

Audio Addict don't tend to put out music that's weak, thin or otherwise not suitable for the dancefloor. Sikka's Fearsome EP is a testament to that, all six cuts do some serious damage and the release overall is certainly on the sharper end of the spectrum. 'Battle Track 101' is the best of the bunch and it's got a rough, Sofa Sound edge that injects a satisfying level of oomph into the arrangement. Sikka's remix of Sweet's Style is a close second and its incredibly unique concoction of swirling basses and gargling pulsars adds a wicked futuristic element. Top EP from the Audio Addict crew.
