Welcome to the Commune! We are a Leeds-based house music event and community, join us in the music here on Soundcloud or at our socials below.

Kyle Douglas is a Chicago-born DJ that has been mixing for 22 years. One thing people always say about Kyle is that he has killer track selection. This isn’t a shock since his mother used to go to disco clubs when she was pregnant with him -- he was born into the beat. Kyle can confidently play all genres of House, but puts out mostly Underground House, Deep House, Minimal, Tech House, Techno, and Disco. Being from Chicago, Kyle is an aggressive mixer and precise programmer. His sound always has a full heartbeat, is chunky, organic, melodic, and constantly moving, all without losing that soulfulness that House music provides. He is intimate with his tracks, understanding them from start to finish. Unique among most talent these days, Kyle spins vinyl on a regular basis and is still to this day collecting his physical library since the late 90’s. He’s an avid risk taker behind the decks, implementing new techniques, experimental sounds, and complex layering. Kyle genuinely enjoys pushing himself to be the best for his audience. Kyle has a loyal following made up of cultured House heads and friends. Most importantly, Kyle just loves to get down with the crowd.
Including Chicago, Kyle is a well-travelled DJ, having lived in four major House music markets. He has held residencies in NYC, played small festivals in Northern California, the UK, and clubs all over SF, and now books gigs in Seattle, WA, where he currently resides. From 2017 to 2020, Kyle was teamed with Viva Recordings, a west coast House music label that celebrated 20 years of presence in May of 2018.  During that time, Kyle served as the Audio/Video Director, handling the mastering for the labels’ mix releases. 
Since COVID-19 has brought a halt to all music festivals and local shows, Kyle has shifted his focus from Viva to his next endeavor: House Cleaning Records. House Cleaning came to be in 2006, when Kyle began his radio show on myhouseyourhouse.net, the well-respected station and label based in Nottingham (UK). The label will not only provide top-notch music, but will also provide a safe community for creativity, art, dance, mentoring, and laughter. House Cleaning Records will be that tribe you long for.

DISTRIKT Sound. A new record label and production venture from two co-founders of DISTRIKT 501c3 nonprofit (known for their epic parties at Burning Man) & newly adopted nephew. 

With today’s model of music streaming and inexpensive downloads, artists rarely receive equitable financial return for their original work. DISTRIKT Sound aims to create an artist compensation model that pays artists a fair share of profits, as well as supporting the careers of the musicians and producers who work hard to create the music we all love. 

More than just a record label, DISTRIKT Sound will build relationships with up and coming producers to nurture their creative work, release their original music, book support tours and help artists build successful careers.

2022 has seen Turner begin his disc jockey journey in the thriving Leeds dance scene. He has already landed sets at highly regarded venues such as Distrikt, alongside impressive sold out sets at the Old Red Bus Station and Eigar Studios🚉 

With a blend of disco-dance and tech-house tunes, Turner’s energy is highly contagious and will leave you wanting more 🕺

I have been an avid vinyl collector since 1990, when I first got into house music. I still collect the obscure and rare tunes when I find them. I play house music from the old school days to right up to the present.

Currently playing Nu-Disco, Deep Disco, Disco, Soulful and Funk. 

I host The Deep 'N' Disco Show on Peoples City Radio, alternate Friday's 7 till 9 GMT.  Featuring Upfront disco, nu-disco, soulful, funk house and deep house plus everything in between, If I like it I will play it. 
I only play music that I feel something for, I believe music is about feeling and the journey it takes you on. Playing music always for the love, it has never been about the fame.
