The temperatures are dropping in Toronto, so no better time to drop another wicked selection of hot new promos, a few classic and DUBS in this month’s mix!

Paco Caniza makes a triumphant return to the B2D setlist, kicking things off with his brand new banger, “I Like It”, a perfect opener.  Rubber People are up next with the disco-house bomb, “Raise Me Up” followed by three HOT new promos; the piano-driven, “Our Funk Love” from Kry(IT) and “Get Ready” on the Black Riot imprint with the new single from Wave Point & The Dropout sandwiched between, “Drifting.”  All 3 are making HUGE waves around the globe!

We then go waaaaaaay back to 1993 with the dub mix of the classic Toronto anthem, “I’m In Love With You” from B.K.S. with the vocals from Tom Novy’s “Your Body” and Pete Heller’s “Big Love” dropped overtop.  Henry Navarro is up next with his new jam “Get Down How You Want To Get Down” on More than House!!, and then it’s right into the second dub in the set courtesy of the legendary Todd Edwards with his mix of “If I Ever Feel Better” from Phoenix.

Lefthook are up next with their new groover, “The Funk” and then we crank the energy back up as Jet Boot Jack gives us his reworking of the classic, “Going Back To My Roots” from Odyssey.  Maxim Grosch then steps up with his new release, “Jupiter V” featuring a classic sample and tight groove.  We throw in a little taste of Thomas Bangalter’s “Shuffle!” off the Roule label, and then it’s right into the cracking new rework from Super Disco Club of DJ Koze’s anthem, “Pick Up”.

To close things out with first have B2D fave 2Sleep teaming up with Tommie Cotton on “Nite Time” in the form of their very cool Garage Dub.  Finishing this month’s trip is the ULTRA hot, Patrice Rushen-sampling “Tired Of Being Alone”, from Gy Fos and again from the amazing Black Riot Records label.  Expect this one to crush dancefloors everywhere!

Shawn Austin began DJing in 1995 and by 2002 he had played many of Toronto's top clubs including The Docks, Atlantis, Guvernment, Paparazzi, Meow, Colossus and a nine-month residency at Venus.  

During this time Shawn was invited to host a 2-hour radio program showcasing the best in Canadian and international dance music on Toronto's 89.5 FM.  Throughout his career, Shawn has always supported Canadian artists and in 2000 he received the Cheer DJ Pool's award for DJ of The Year.

In 2001 Shawn was invited to re-tool French/Italian dance artist Gigi D'Agostino's international hit "I'll Fly With You" as part of an exclusive set of Canadian remixes for Popular Records Canada.  The mix helped D'Agostino's record to hit the Canadian National Dance Chart, eventually peaking at number 35.  In 2006, Shawn began working on new music with Toronto-based producer Adam K.  The result was the progressive-electro slammer, "40,000 Years of Funk".  Peaking at 4 on Beatport.com's Progressive  House Chart and 7 on the Beatport.com top 100, it is a crowd pleasing peak-time favourite that got spins from Tiesto, Tom Novy, Flash Brothers and many others in support of remixes from Hirshee and Hatiras.  

Shawn has had guest mixes featured on Platinum Radio London, BrokeFM.uk.co, and recorded the DJ mix of tracks from Jukebox Rekordz' "Waves III:  A Tribute To Crydamoure" compilation.  Shawn’s DJ sets embrace disco and funky house, current club anthems, together with rare gems and his own productions and remixes.

Shawn currently presents his "Back 2 Disco" show every month on SoundCloud with special editions presented at various time throughout the year.
