Wake Island is a Montreal electronic duo deftly manoeuvring between genres, crafting songs that mix minimal techno beats with 90s rock/pop influences. The band is comprised of Philippe Manasseh and Nadim Maghzal, both Lebanese immigrants who met while studying in Montreal in the early 2000s. 

Now based between Montreal and New York, Wake Island’s main focus is to reconcile their Arab roots with their North American lives, offering songs in three languages that testify to a truly unique perspective on modern life in Western societies. With vocals, synths and guitars remaining the crux of their music, the band forged a particular approach to techno production.

Wake Island is an ever changing live experience guided by a visceral inventiveness which has become an instrument in its own right.

The Red Bull Music Academy is a world-travelling series of music workshops and festivals: a platform for those who make a difference in today's musical landscape. Here, you'll find exclusive downloads and streams from Academy participants, family, and friends.

Underspreche are the Italian duo of Marika Della Torre and Simone Campanile. Together they produce music that deftly balances emotion and multiple world influences with a tougher edge dedicated to the dancefloor.

Glasgow-based DJ, has played alongside the likes of Keepsakes, Christina Sealey of Orphx, DJ Andi of Synthicide (NYC) and JD Twitch of Optimo, and put on international live guests such as Multiple Man, Celldod, Autumns, and Qual.
