Summer 2023

The music gates open wide and deep right from the 'maze of life' sample.  Riding a very smooth line between slick progressive sounds and serious trance, Chris packs it well and tight in Episode 68.  Epic and pulsing synths are matched perfectly with articulate percussion creating the quintessential track train style.  Don't take your eyes off the road signs, you will miss more than one exit driving in this mix.

BFSN (or Biffson) is an international DJ from Bern (CH)
Mixing since 2012 mainly Progressive House and Melodic House.
His sets are peppered with spherical sounds, playful, deep and a straight flow, in search of the perfect groove. 
BFSN has also been mixing guest mixes since 2019, which have gone down very well with hosts and their listeners. At the end of 2020, he was able to present his skills through a DJ competition of the world-renowned label and radio station "Saturo Sounds", based in the UK, and was given his own monthly radio show "Lost In Sound" since the beginning of 2021 which can be listened to every 2nd Thursday of the month from 9pm (CET) on www.saturosounds.com.

Vega (AU) is a longtime electronic music enthusiast with a flair for deep, organic, melodic and progressive house. The Melbourne based DJ has a sound influenced from labels such as All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Shanti Radio, The Soundgarden, 3rd Avenue, The Purr and Meanwhile Recordings, and is naturally drawn to track selections that evoke an emotive and atmospheric tone. 

After making his live debut at 'my aeon' in Melbourne as support for the Genix [Anjunabeats] - 199X album tour, he has since appeared as guest mixer on numerous radio and streaming hosts including AATM Club Radio [UK], Radio Deep [UK], Bondi Radio [AUS] and Sinergia [SVN], as well as gaining monthly residencies at some of Melbourne's most popular bar offerings including the Ibiza themed 'Arbory Afloat' and the intimate 'Music Room' at HER Bar as a member of @floatingdreamsmusic. 

Floating Dreams are a collective of Melbourne based DJs who specialise in organic, melodic and deep house, where they have  played as support for Sébastien Léger, Double Touch & Jim Rider [All Day I Dream], Weird Sounding Dude [Anjunadeep / The Soundarden], GMJ & Matter [Meanwhile Recordings], Kasey Taylor [Vapour Recordings, Sudbeat] with several more exciting announcements to be made in 2023.

The love for music started just before puberty set in.
There Roy got inspired by rock music.
AC/DC was the first band he really listened to.
This was also his first concert ever.
15 years old and going to see AC/DC in 1996.
Shortly after, Guns n Roses, Metallica, U2, Smashing Pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers was all he listened to.

A bit later the music got more intense.
He started listening to bands like 
Rage Against the Machine, Sepultura, Machine Head, Pantera, Korn and Limp Bizkit.

In his early 20's he took a more mellow path music wise.
60's music got his interest.
Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, BB King, Bob Dylan, The Doors, The Animals and his biggest hero's where, and still are The Rolling Stones and Dire Straits/ Mark Knopfler.

Then... May 10th 2003. The day history was made in so many ways.
Roy lives right next to Arnhem football stadium 'Gelredome' where a certain DJ 'Tiësto' performed.
His mates all went and asked him along.
He never was into dance music but he was so impressed with the show, the scene, the fans, and his interest in dance music was born right there.

Shortly after he stared to buy Tiësto albums.
In Search of Sunrise 4 was the first dance album he bought and the interest in this music genre kept getting bigger and bigger.
(Ironically, that album remains his favorite album of all times)

The following years a friend told him:
'You will never appreciate the skills of a DJ if you never DJ'ed yourself, because then you will truly know how hard it is and what it is all about'.

With those words in mind he bought a 2nd hand set of turntables and a mixer and i got started.
It took some time before it all went smooth and after a few months he really felt comfortable.
Ever since then he played trance music exclusively but after hearing Dan Southward's radioshow 'Deep Senses Radio' early 2010 his interest in 
progressive house and deep house was awakened.
This made quite some changes in his style but this made Roy more complete as a DJ.
Later on he let other styles like tech-house and even techno slip between his sets just to keep things interesting.

Early 2013 Roy's friend Dan Southward picked up on Roy's progressive house sets.
He heard how much he improved his sound and he asked him to join forces and host his monthly show together.
The name of the show was Deep Senses Radio.
This was a great succes and Roy has been a part of the show ever since.
The style of the show is Deep House, Progressive House, Tech-house, Minimal and Techno.
January 2016 Dan decided to leave Deep Senses Radio and went solo with his own radioshow.
Roy changed the name in Deep Senses and started counting from 001 again.
Ever since, the format of the show is a mix by Roy Malloy in the first hour and a guestmix by a different DJ in the second hour.

Skipping to September 2021 and Roy succesfully made 100 episodes.
This was celebrated with an exclusive 5 hour mix with all of his favorite tracks of the past 8 years.

Roy's broad taste in music is very noticeable in his sets and he is never afraid
of trying out new things or just do his own thing.
The only words that come to mind when describing Roy's sound is divers, different and bold.

In 2015 Dan Southward and Roy Malloy started out their own record label called D&R Digital.

I was into hip hop and soul growing up and discovered DJ-ing in 1991 in Oxford, learned to beatmix with a copy of Outlander "Vamp", got deep into progressive house during its epoch, spent my student grant in Massive Records and my summer job money at Tag Records in Soho, DJ-ed in the back room of the Ministry and at the Wag and at parties in France, Russia and South Africa, then went travelling in my mid twenties and fell in love the with the guitar instead. Was in various bands and got my musical kicks that way. Life happened, kids happened, nothing much happened...then in my forties I started running and found mixes got me through it...and then lockdown happened. I found myself doing the hoovering and relying on John Digweed's bunker sets to get my through it...and started to realise how much amazing music is out there.   So now I'm back to home mixing on the Djay app in the iPad and playing out again at 50th birthdays!
