Summer is around the corner, and helping us usher it in with pizazz and cheer is @ray-mang. We're overjoyed; we've been close, captivated fans since the early days and have been looking for a project to slide his way since day one at LPH.

This particular journey started with a remix of SAIDÊRA's "Deixa Tudo Fluir," which LPH released earlier in the year. It's a feel-good samba song, magically both sunkissed and touched by a gentle pang of melancholia.

Mr. Mang magnified the presence of the rhythm section and imbued the whole arrangement with a playful patience, crafting a Brazilian-inflected disco jamboree that's tuned for sunset dance circles yet suited for all hands-in-the-air moments. Enjoy it alone or with groups small and large alike.

Saidêra - Deixa Tudo Fluir (Ray Mang Sambadrone Beats) [Let's Play House] <Gouranga Premiere>

Futuristic disco master Ichisan is back. After releasing 'Baba Mustafa' EP on Gouranga Music, he brings us more italo grooves with his newest release 'Voda' on Nang Records.

The shimmering electronics and dancefloor energy of the Italo sound felt like a signifier of a future fast approaching Eastern Europe in the mid 80's, and as we lurch into the second quarter of the twenty first century, Slovenian producer Ichisan's fourth studio album VODA (Water) has warm and welcome roots in that hopeful era.

After the last 14 months, it's no surprise that the (seven track) album isn't particularly focused on dancefloors, as made clear from the outset by airy, moog washed opener Gozd Reka (River In A Forest). 
The glistening arpeggio's of second track Gospa Jensen (Mrs Autumn) are a sonic theme that filters in and out of the album, as is the easy listening / BBC Radiophonic style playlfulness of the likes of Konjski Rep (Horse Tail).

When a bit of 4/4 lead dancefloor structure does makes an appearance, as with Mornarska Kapa (Sailor Hat), the mood remains light and breezy, and is quickly followed by the cautionary Cabernet Pa Na Taxi (Always take taxi after drinking Cabernet) which opens with the sound of cork exiting bottle, and proceeds to strut artfully around a breezy funk groove of agreeable vintage.

LP closer Tiha Voda (Quiet Water) drifts comfortably from arpeggiated glissando's into a breezy cocktail jazz rhythm, and feels like a fitting end to 30 + mins spent in a place many will be happy to return to in the brighter days ahead.

Watch out closely... Ichisan and Gouranga have been working on something truly special coming this Fall.

Continuing to seek the positive in the face of the mutable and inevitable, your favorite hippy goths, Hazy James & Millennium Culkin, are back with a double single/double remix EP "Out For You." It’s the new follow up to their thuddingly ethereal, transcendent psychedelic debut, Days Go By… which became a bit of a summer anthem last year due to heavy support from Lauren Laverne on BBC6 & the crew at 1BTN.

First up on the EP, title track, "Out For You" is an anthemic belter filled with ripping guitars, pounding arpeggiated bass, 808 drops, plus a dreamy break filled with slide guitars that rumble, build and explode underneath Hazy James' airy falsetto. Designed for arena madness and soundtracking your moments of catharsis. 

Not satisfied with just arena filling vibes, Each Other (Justin Strauss and Max Pask) take the original and twist it into a different experience which should really only be beamed down from a DJ booth orbiting the Earth to a fully global dance party. File this in the "Peak Time Festival" folder.

Flipping over to the b-side, the energy is high but the feeling a little colder on "The Night" - a chugging, introspective, escapist anthem for anytime the sun goes down. Sonically it's a little goth-punk and a little bit acid house. (Alt: Sonically it’s got a little goth-punk flavor with some acid-house taste) This is the first song on the playlist for your journey to a destination not yet known, just any-fucking-where but here. 

NY icon, Juan MacLean picks up remixing duties and turns in a taut, lean, dark, body moving machine. Shimmering synth lines cascade over a rough hypnotic beat, conjuring memories of Maceo Plex hammering to a packed, smokey floor at Trade.

After an initial tease with the Cocoons E.P. earlier this year, we now move on to the main course as the self-titled debut album from Rich Hall, Paul Withey & Sarah Lazenby aka ‘Super FU ‘drops on Paper Wave and it truly is a thing of aural beauty.

10 tracks spanning an array of sounds & styles with more than a tip of the hat to what we’d deem to the be ‘The B Word” (Balearic incase you were thinking anything smutty) with touches of street soul, low slung house, psychedelic, outsider pop and lots more vibes that’s tough to put in a box.
