Caelum (anteriormente conocidos como Transcendentia) es una banda de heavy metal en español de Puerto Rico fundada como proyecto solista en 2015 por el compositor, vocalista y guitarrista José Gabriel Valentín. Su primer trabajo completo fue Cælum, grabado de manera independiente en Marciano Recordings en Yauco, Puerto Rico. Posteriormente, Gabriel decidió
buscar músicos y establecer el concepto formalmente una vez terminado el proyecto. 

El estilo musical de la banda tiene varias influencias, desde el heavy metal tradicional y el metalcore hasta la inclusión de elementos progresivos en el metal. La temática de las canciones está dirigida a experiencias personales y sentimientos universales; la banda toca principalmente temas sociales y de libertad. Algunas influencias son: Bullet For My Valentine, Mägo de Oz y Dream Theater, entre otras. 

El significado del nombre “Caelum” significa “cielo” en latín y representa el lado positivo ante todas las adversidades que la vida pueda presentar.
