The “Saturday Salon” takes place on the last Saturday of every month and features a 60-minute performance at 1:00 PM Central Time. A portion of the proceeds from each performance benefits The Jazz Foundation of America. An extremely talented vocalist raised in the gospel tradition, Lavon “Donnie” Tatem has become one of the most popular singers in the Philly Soul tradition. Tatem began his recording career as a member of the group Gentlemen Of Leisure that recorded the single "Never Had A Love Like This Before" in 1980. He can also be heard on the movie score of “The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh” on Lorimar Records in 1979. In 1981, Donnie joined the legendary acappella gospel group “The Stars Of Harmony” based out of Woodbury, New Jersey. In 1995, Tatem scored the lead role in the off-Broadway production “If Only For You” in Atlantic City and continued touring as a solo gospel artist until 2008 when he joined TRU with singers James “Jimi” Williams and Primo Wansley. The group attracted the attention of legendary producer Butch Ingram and recorded the critically acclaimed album My Love Is TRU in 2010 on Society Hill Records, to which Donnie contributed the songs “Night & Day Dreams” and “Who Do You See When You Look At Me?.” Since then, Tatem has become an invaluable vocalist on many of the Society Hill sessions that Butch Ingram produces, and in 2016 made his solo album debut with the critically acclaimed "Ain't No Love" which further cemented his status as a songwriter and lead vocalist who many consider the "cream of the crop." Donnie is featured here backed by members of INGRAM, the first family of Philly Soul, singing the heart-warming Christmas classic, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” which originally appeared on the popular holiday compilation “Merry Christmas From Philadelphia” - just in time for the holidays.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FELLAS

So I kinda just got the idea literally on Christmas Eve that it'd be really funny if UF Gyftrot had the nice, wholesome hobby of brutally murdering old ladies, like in that one Christmas song "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" (very long name). My hc is that he's like chained to a rock in a secluded part of Snowdin Forest, and on the Betrayal route you can free him and let him go on a murder spree. Despite the thumbnail, he'd also have stuff on him to remove, but it might be more like vandalism than Christmas gifts.

Ok so onto the song. Whenever I get a stupid idea like this, it naturally evolves into me wanting to make a banger-ass theme for said stupid idea, hence this. Obviously Gyftrot doesn't have a unique battle theme in Undertale, but Underfell ain't Undertale so whatever. I had to improvise for the leitmotifs, but I made sure to include some Christmas songs cus Gyftrot is, indeed, a Christmas monster.

I'm just a kid with a vision trying to spread a positive message about the future. I do this to represent Minnesota and because it is therapeutic for myself and my fans. My style of music is versatile, but I have my own type of flow to represent my brand and my vision.

The most meaningful interests of my life include: my daughter, Keira Lynn, writing my own songs, as well as singing from my soul. Music has always been the first love of my life, specifically, country music. The day Keira was born she proved, to me, that love truly is beautiful.

I have always been a songwriter and a poet, as well as a singer at heart. I can spend hours on end just sitting and writing and picking guitar or messing around on the piano/keyboard. The sound of a violin/fiddle just strikes my heart down to my soul, which is why I took up the violin at the age of twenty-one. My daughter, Keira, gives me reason to live this life every day. I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, MG, an autoimmune muscle weakness illness, in July of 2011. Keira is such an inspiration to me, making me not want to give up, even when I get so weak. She is my song that lingers into hope. Keira will always continue to be the song of my whole life.

I am huge into writing my own songs (mainly a lyricist, while picking around with chords on guitar or putting some notes together on keys on the piano/keyboard or the violin/fiddle). I have been writing for several years and have taken two-and-a-half years of voice and guitar lessons. I just have never found exactly where to place my music. I always keep the hope and the prayer that success may be within the next page of my life.
