A haunted drone bed unfolds beneath fractured echoes and metallic heartbeats—each pulse a rust-stained second slipping through tremulous silence. Whispered voices weave through cavernous reverb, tracing the names we buried under comfort’s soft deceit. Yet amid this cosmic ruin, a single ember of life refuses to die.

In this 8-minute odyssey, low-frequency rumble becomes a cradle for that ember. When the wind keeps the names we hid, it also carries the unspoken defiance that perhaps, even in the marrow of missed moments, one last no can shatter the silence. Threshold Clubhouse is celebrating its 40th Anniversary.

Threshold is a community-based, Psychosocial Rehabilitation program and an Accredited Clubhouse International facility. Since 1985, Threshold Clubhouse has provided a space for those living with a severe mental illness in Durham, NC to find community, purpose, and support.

The Clubhouse Model focuses on strengths rather than weaknesses and is based on the idea of equality between members and staff. Members are an integral, active part of the Clubhouse. The word “member” reflects emphasis on the person not just their illness and connotes a sense belonging and ownership that members have in the Clubhouse community.

Kyle Carter is the CEO of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (aka “NAMI”), an organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental illnesses and their families through support, education, and advocacy. On Saturday, Oct. 18th, NAMI will be hosting a 5k mental health awareness and fundraising walk where they’ll be inviting residents from every neighborhood to gather at Friends Hospital (4641 Roosevelt Blvd.) from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. for a day of hope, connection, and community pride. 

Kyle joins the show to talk about a 5k mental health walk NAMI will be having on October 18th, and to discuss the importance of focusing on one's mental well-being.

Some of my songs on here particarily the older ones from when i was in high school i used apple loops and maybe loops from a couple other DAWS to make the instrumental but now i make the instrumental by using Midi keyboard so i can make the beat patterns and melodies and some newer songs over the past five years have bandlab loops in them to make the instrumental but since i dont make money on here its fine i put these songs on here i just dont release them to bigger platforms but just about almost of my new songs i made up the instrumental with MIDI so i have more control over the patterns and melodies
