By fall of 2021 our Sohmer upright was badly in need of attention. Prior to having it serviced I made some recordings of what I thought of as our “pandemic piano”. One of these recordings was simply playing B and C together slowly. I really enjoyed the combination of the tuning issues and the natural beating of the interval, and later imagined BC as an abbreviation for Before Covid.
